I don't think games are televised until the 1st round.

4QR has never been on TV before & nothing to say it will be this year. Coverage only starts when the FL clubs come in.

sharp intake of breath, mixed with a subtle blend of sorrowful acceptance.

In my opinion the fourth qualifying round should be made an open draw not north and south

So somebody like Poole Town could make a loss on the game by travelling all the way to Shildon for example? Makes no sense.

When you enter the fa cup you know there is traveling expected so. What's the difference between opening it up now. In the last qualifying round

It's entirely to do with money. It's only in recent years that the first two rounds proper have stopped being regionalised.

Sending Truro to play Shildon at this stage is a financial nonsense.  Overnighter, huge long journey for how many away fans - 25 perhaps?

Keep the games regional and there's none of those daft expenses run up and more chance of a local derby like ours coming out of the bag.

the only question is when should it open up nationally - and that for me is when the 2nd division get involved.

I think they've got it spot on how they do it now.

Any non-league fans would go the length of the country to watch their lot at a football league ground from R1 onwards.  In the 4Q it just isn't worth nationalising it yet, for the sake of drawing a Conf club at best. Any later and you're drawing the same teams too many times.

4th qual doesn't need nationalising however it is split incorrectly making the southern half of the draw much easier
