Southport in 1978 ???? dont think we were three nil down but it was a very up and down scoring pattern

You are correct sir...2-0 to Southport through goals from George Dewsnip (I think), we then scored 3 times before they equalised very late on (Maurice Whittle from the penalty spot?). Jeff Johnson's last gasp winner was an incredible moment.

Didn't they miss a penalty before Jeff Johnson's winner? George Dewsnip - back from playing in the States and looked a real arrogant gig but scored a great goal and a couple against us in the league game a few weeks earlier when they ripped up apart.

One of my first away matches 2 down at Boston won 3-2 Martin baker winner 89-90 wouldev been a class player but for injury

Superb one....a week after we lost 5-0 at Colne in the Trophy.

Agree about Martin 'Bambi' Baker as well. About a week after he broke his leg, I taxi'd him back to his home in Leeds for which I was paid £750 by the club. ::) ::) ::)

And I bet that you claimed the petrol back via Yell expenses, too......

Martin Baker left a brown envelope in my car, which contained all the X-Rays of his broken leg. I posted them back to him the following day for a fee of £392.

Didn't Martin Baker's final appearance for Alty comprise that 9-2 annihilation of Merthyr Tydfil at Moss Lane in 1991?

A sad aside on an otherwise exhilarating afternoon.
