I posted this on our own messageboard, but thought I would find out what you lot think I should do as a visiting Macc fan:

Does anyone have any advice on Altrincham pubs for next week?

I'd like a few drinks beforehand, but dunno whether there are any decent boozers or whether I'll get any mither if I'm in colours.

I'm half thinking of drinking in Manchester and then getting the tram, but any advice would be welcome.

Isn't that the 'designated' away fans boozer or was that just for the play off final?

I think it's pretty much designated.

Decent pub though and not bad for a bit of food either. Always busy, but not rammed so you can't get a pint, before games.

Plus the bar staff there are much more pleasant than those surly types you may encounter in the George & Dragon.....

Thanks for the advice.

Lets see how busy it gets next week. I reckon we'll bring about 800.

It's highly unlikely you'll get any mither if you wear colours. Even with the rivalry Alty are not known for causing trouble, The King George is a decent boozer for away fans.

That's VERY good, with an average home gate of 1344.
Better get more pies ordered!!!!
