I also thought we were good in patches and attempted to pass the ball quickly. Cav had a good game. However our two strikers didnt get much service. I said at the end of last season that we needed to add  6 quality players to the squad. Yesterday only two new faces started. The reality is that last season's squad is not not good enough for Conf Prem and we got promoted by the skin of out teeth. I didnt think Aldershot were a good side, only slightly better than ourselves, but took their chances. The ref was one-sided and inconsistent, but to be fair he did wait to see if there was advantage before blowing his whistle.

Please could the person in charge of stewarding at Moss Lane contact me as I would like to bring to their attention the way we treated yesterday by the insensitive, petty and pathetic attitude of their stewards. This was pity as last time we played there they were very good and friendly.

I found their stewards better than many we come across......what was the problem you had ?

I was invited to the match by my regional manager, who is a Shots fan and we had looked forward to watching this match together. He met me and my two boys (aged 10 and 11 years) at the Railway station and was with two of his wifeís French relatives as well as another mate. So as there were 7 of us together Ė 2 Shots fans, 3 Alty fans and 2 neutral, we decided to sit in the family stand for which I was charged £33 for me and the two nippers,  and we had no issues in the first half. At half time as we tried to enter the Gents, I was singled out by a Steward for wearing a navy blue polo shirt with an Alty crest.  My friend has gone ahead of me but me and my boys were refused entry, and although I didnít argue the Frenchmen were very offended. Then along came big boss steward and my friends argued that there wasnít a problem Ė to which I point out there was a problem in that Alty are 2-0 down! The two stewards then escorted me and my lads to the uncovered away terrace. After the match we were made to wait until the ground was empty before being allowed to re-join our party. They also threw out another Alty fan towards the end of game who also had a nipper with him. My lads are totally confused about the purpose of stewardship. In May we went to the Italy v Ireland game, sat in the Irish section of the Riverside stand and after the game were forced by stewards to leave literally through ĺ of the ground inhabited by Italy fans coming in the opposite direction. On that occasion I did rear up about the stupidity of the stewards, big boss steward did not appear and an FAI official did but I had run out of patience to argue with that stupidity,  as the Avivia stadium in Dublin is shocking to access/exit.

As it is Aldershot policy that fans of the two teams canít watch the match with each other, even in a family stand, away fans canít access either of the two bars, I suggest we return the courtesy in the return match. When they come to Moss Lane I hope their fans are accommodated solely on the away fans terrace behind the goal, and not allow them in the family stand and we keep a section of the covered terrace between the sets of fans empty like they did yesterday.

The thing is, creating a sterile area on the popular side will only inconvenience Alty fans, so that would be pointless.

I say we should welcome them into our bar/ground and not lower our own standards purely because they got it wrong. I do understand your annoyance at the unnecessarily heavy-handed approach. Sadly, I don't think it will be the only away ground where this sort of thing happens this season.

I thought the difference was our woeful defending. The third in particular was dreadful. Not sure whether it was Havern's fault or Coburn's, but between them it was a total f**k-up. In terms of general play we weren't great, but we weren't overrun or anything. Scored one good goal. But for a great save late in the first half we'd have had another.

I'm still relatively optimistic about our survival prospects.

What worries me is we have more players/options than last season and just how long it will take to achieve our best 11.

Goes without saying a version of 3-4-3 will be our best.

sounds like a lack of common sense combined with a bit of power stupidity from the Aldershot stewards......what were you in your polo shirt and your two children gonna do?....kick off????

would like to think a letter could go to Aldershot about this.....but similarly hope we rise above it and show them how to treat opposing fans when they visit moss lane.......although Tesco may decide to close over this incident.

A bloke in our open section was pulled for smoking an E-cigarette, WTF is that about? Perhaps they are redeployed Rushden stewards?

There are only 2 quality centre halfs at the club however if Marshall plays like second half on consistent basis you may have a point also the full backs have to be the fittest players at club I'm not sure that is the case aswell

For what it's worth I felt that the big difference yesterday was the lack of time on the ball, players have been used to receiving the ball and having a second to think and Aldershot just didn't give them that second. I think, I hope, it was a wake up for the players because I genuinely think they are better than they showed yesterday and if they can just quicken it up a bit....

The stewards were spectacularly unhelpful and it wouldn't have hurt for them to tell you there was no access to the bar before we went in
