Admire his honesty - He didn't look like he was up for the fight in either match - Good luck fella, from one Alty fan to another.

A very emotional statement, really feel for the bloke, not sure if he went through the motions of fulfilling his promise/ambition or he really feels not up for it. I hope he has given up for the right reasons, not because of any disappointment. Good luck Danny Boy in whatever you do now.

Fair play Danny, sounds like playing under Sinnott was the final straw

I can fully understand that

Might get shouted down but perhaps he was fulfilling a promise because he felt he had to but really wanted to quit. Makes sense to me, after all Chester is not such a level above and the travelling bearing in mind we go to Oxford, Worcester etc. Fair play to the bloke, an Alty fan, if I was any cop I'd like to pull the shirt on. Move on, let's get behind them and get up this season.

I think its fair enough, he's fulfilled his ambition and I for one admire his honesty, too many footballers sit on contracts, good luck to him. And I look forward to seeing him on the golf road end

The guy has made an honest decision and been a big enough man to be up front about it....he could have done what many players have before and taken the money for nothing.

We all wanted it to work out...maybe he should have been bought on from the bench itching to go.....very interesting he said the other players were putting their all in and he wasn't.

It's not a piss take...a piss take is the likes of justin bowler, Michael twiss knowing they are not up for it but seeing the contract out....bit of respect for the lad who clearly wanted it to work but is honest enough to put his hand in the air.

I think he'll regret it in as little as two years time when his legs wont be up for it....he could have inspired us to promotion and maybe even a famous cup run next year.

We should all admire his honesty imo and be grateful he did not prolong what was going to become a more and more frustrating situation.. .perhaps this is the catalyst in a bizarre way.

No hard feelings from me Danny, best of luck with your media career....and if you need a chauffeur...... ;D
