The article describes him as "A professional footballer".

Is this is an error or are Leek a genuine full time / professional outfit?

This article makes out Leek Town sacked him after he was sent down in fact they got rid of him straight after the incident in June and hasnt played for Leek since the end of last season and he has been plying his trade for another local non league side this season(that hasnt been mentioned in any press article)before his sentence.Leek Towns name is being dragged through the mud totally unfairly over this

I agree.  How the idiot earnt his living, or who he worked for (legally) is utterly irrelevant.
