Last night's england v ukraine ref...

I thought had an excellent game, was right up with play and got a good view of defoe pushing the guy away in the face for a definete foul albeit the ukraine player made a meal of it, the wellbeck non penalty and the welbbeck penalty....the gerrard bookings were a bit harsh when taken together to make a red but in each case were probably right.

someone pick ATS up off the floor.....

Think welbeck was fouled for the non pen, it was clear the challenge impeded wellbeck and he shouldnt have to go to ground to prove this.

I think he gave the defender the benefit of the doubt for the non-penalty, but otherwise I thought he liked his cards a wee bit too much. That indicates - to me - a ref who is losing discipline.

"Mister Referee, the horrible defender stood in the way and stopped me walking straight through towards the goal".

On a serious level, did you just expect the defender to let him walk past without a challenge? Defenders job by nature is to impede and get in the way of threats to their goal

i understand where your coming from, but if the challenge is no where near the ball and stops wellbeck shooting then its a foul

The ref should not have given a penalty to England.
England deserved to lose.
