Not sure which is the bigger York Alty 'cos not my thing either so I've never been to the York one. However Shildon's is the National Railway Village which might suggest it's bigger than an ordinary museum ;D
 The first passenger train in the world though went from Shildon to Stockton NOT Darlington to Stockton
 Happy to oblige with the history lesson :D :D

Another surprising fact about Shildon.  York can't boast that I'm afraid so looks like it's Shildon 1 York 0!
