Whilst I understand it can be hard to spot away fans entering the home end in plain clothes, I saw at least 5 or 6 Chester fans wearing club colours (hats, scarves, shirts. etc.) it is beggars belief these people werent moved to the away end.

As for the fighting that is a matter for the police and I don't blame any stewards who refused to get involved. Walking past hoards of drunk Chester fans in Alty before the match, I could sense there was going to be trouble

Not the best game to take the mrs to. Doubt she will
Want to come back.
please tell your mrs this is a one off (we hope) and it does not happen every week.
The only way to stop this is to stop the mass production of plastic teams with one years history ,
i can not believe any league can allow an influx of thugs in 2012

I wasn't there but it happened in front of where I stand every game so I've naturally asked a lot of people what went on.

By the sounds of things two Alty fans have gone over to these Chester lads, in which case you deserve what you get. I've no idea who threw the first punch but that's a playground cliche, really.

I absolutely love that we have volunteers willing to steward our games but this is the price you will occasionally pay as no one can really deal with a situation once it escalates to that extent. Again however, by the sounds of things, this could have been prevented before hand according to numerous people I've spoken to... and in which case things need to be taken a look at. Its already been talked about though, things like policing, moving the fans round to the away end before anything happened, etc.

I've also been told there were complaints from some that  'my lot' (some will know who I mean) didn't "jump in" which is absolutely ludicrous. Like a handful of eighteen year old lads who have never raised a finger in over 7 seasons of watching Altrincham are going to run over start punching random people. It's not the 1980s.

In reply to An Arabian Investor the lad that shouted at his own fans for not helping out was done in the heat of the moment after seeing a fellow Alty fan get his head stamped on. I have spoken to said supporter this morning and he would like to apologise to anyone that was in the group he shouted at. In reply to ATS the second incident was brewing over before the ONE Alty fan pushed a Chester fan in retaliation to alot of verbals. When Chester reacted myself and another lad so three in total tried to defend ourselves and are in no way football hooligans. I would like to apologise to anyone that felt scared by my actions as I am normally a very friendly person but yesterday I just snapped at a group of Chester fans looking for trouble. I apologize again for my actions and will see you all on Saturday

People like that don't listen to stewards, they react to the threat of arrest or ejection.

This is the hub of the matter and I only hope it is taken into account when the next bug game comes around.

If these people see a policemen near the gate they'll just walk round to their own end.

The who said what to who and who did what first have been done to death at this stage and as others have quite rightly pointed out 'you don't go into a home supporters section as an away fan and start singing antagonistic chants unless you are looking for trouble' (whatever the whiter than white bloke on deva chat says about wanting cover for him and his lad).

What I would like to know is how are the supporter and the steward? Secondly, I would like to think that the people responsible for stamping on another human being's head are going to be found and charged (that's the bit that really makes my blood boil, just getting escorted to their own end is like being rewarded for neanderthal gbh).

One thing is for sure I wont be going to Chester away that is 100%.

The first fight was bad enough to happen having giving warning of the issue since 2.20pm. All I can say is thank god there were a few Alty fans who were prepared to stand up for the rest of us. Myself included, sorry to say it but i couldnt punch the way out of paper bag!!!

What I am absolutely astounded at is that the cretins in the GRE were not moved before the first fight, nevermind the second. That was very poor crowd control. When the 2nd fight started there were NO stewards or Police in the area. Can I ask why?

Can I also ask why the police were called at 3.01pm when the potential of trouble was highlighted at 2.20pm?

There were some big failings by the club ;-

1) Chester Stewards monitoring inside the ground, not outside the turnstiles. Once the fans are in they are hard to remove, prevent them getting in !!!
2) The Chester steward I saw most of the time not actually looking at who was coming in but he was looking into the away end half the time!!!
3) No Police at the game until called, despite Chester having issues previously and it was a good bank holiday drinking day.
4) Possible trouble advised at 2.20pm, yet no Police called until after the 1st fight at 3.01pm!!!
5) Fighting fans moved the the away end and not thrown out!!!
6) No evidence of Stewards or Police visible prior to the 2nd fight at 3.10pm!!!
7) Incidentally where was the video camera that the club bought at great expense? Was that used, any footage, or did we forget about our camera or was it inside someones bedroom being used to make homemade pornos?

As for Graham Rowleys comments from the main site I think he is wildly out of touch with what happened, but someone is covering their backside for not calling the Police early enough.

As for the club saying they will learn from this, I would ask - did you learning anything from Wrexham???

was a disgrace what happened. it was obvious there were Chester fans in the GRE 30 mins before the game yet they were not moved and there were no stewards in the GRE before the first fight and second fight and it was unacceptable that both sets of the Chester scum were simply moved to the away end and not thrown out the ground. both clubs and the police let the fans down big time in my opinion

The lad offering it out in the chip queue was bragging he'd taken over FC main boozer and done over Chorley twice last season...

Jesus, do idiots like this still exist? Is there really some misguided tit walking round thinking that 'taking over' a boozer is either entertaining or worthwhile?

Taking over a boozer usually involves going in there ordering drinks and behaving like a wild animal until either everyone else leaves because you're a tw@t or you get tw@tted out of there because youre a tw@t.

Either way youre a tw@t and need to really ask yourself why you haven't got over not being cast in a Danny Dyer film that was released nearly 10 years ago.

Im sure the people of Chorley haven't lost any sleep that this pratt got one over on them twice in a year.

It's what you'd expect. They can't say much more than that, can't really say fairer than that either.

I don't think I will either, unless confident there will be a police presence.

I dont think there will be trouble at chester, the yobs that started the fighting are most likely banned from Chesters home games
