I thought this was a good workout last night. Alty looked sluggish, but I put that down to the double training sessions and team bonding over the weekend.

I liked the look of Lacey in the second half and was impressed by Rogers again, especially when he switched to centre half in the 2nd half.

Mitchley needs to do more, but has potential. Brooke looked good in the second half. Watmore is a special player, but I think tries to do a little too much at time, sometimes the easy ball is the best one.. and Damian looks miles of fitness at present, which is to be expected given his lack of football/training this summer.

I thought Mossley for their part played well, kept going and probably deserved the draw...

Hopefully we'll get another good workout on Sat against Wrexham who beat Coventry 4-1 last night !!

I didn't go, but getting the idea wasn't great performance, but if wasn't for a quick free kick, would had won the game. As Hughesy says, games like that in Cup/Trophy games away from home, we'd lose. So if that is the sign of the season ahead in cup competitions, I'd take that and kill the tie off at Moss Lane.

What I do like is how we've got the last Saturday before the season starts without a game. Get some decent training done that day, making sure prepared for Brackley rather than looking at what to do against pre season opposition.

The score is not really the important thing in these games

Was a little disappointed, other than Hall and Doughty we were full strength, although not all playing in their strongest positions

But we must be honest, we were poor

Reeves a long way from being fully fit. And who gonna partner him Mitchley and Brooks look miles off, although good goal by Brooks

Last night reminded me of many games last season, where more agricultural teams dig in and nullify us

I dont really take to much notice of these warm up games, good or bad, and I think we will be strong next season. But we not there yet, could do with another striker and left back

I haven't seen any preseason, but I thought the consensus was that Brooke looks a decent signing? Admittedly the reviews on Mitchley have been luke warm at best...

I'm not overly worried by a draw away from home on a heavy pitch. Wrexham and FCUM being teams one league either side of us and played on a decent surface should tell us a bit more.

We have just signed a left back

Agreed, but Nicky Clee has played 90% of pre season at left back

The only game Matt has started at left back was Trafford, when Nicky was ruled out with a knock

I don't want a season of Nicky Clee at left back

Thanks for these. Whilst we're all engrossed in the prospects of our own side, I have to say you looked a tidy outfit, and were good value for the draw. I was standing with your manager's Dad in the second half, and he tells me he's backed you at 20-1. On what I saw, that's a real value bet.

Why would we sign a specialist left back and then play Clee in that position, though? It would be odd in the extreme!

But it's not is it, though. It says on the offical website that Doughty has had an injury and, in any case, Lee Sinnott knows he can play at left back already. As is the norm, he's used the friendly games to try other things out.
