1-1 full time, we'd lose here in the cup/trophy.

Anything to read into this or just a bad day at the office when there's nothing at stake? I find it very hard to get worked about friendlies one way or the other.

Looked better 2nd half in the middle with Phelan's energy. Liked the look of Lacey but Mitchley failed to impress

Not really, we didn't play a full side, it was a very heavy pitch, cutting up like hell and that's in July,it's a far better work out scrapping to a 1-1 at Mossley in those conditions than strolling to a 1-4 T**tting against Burnley at moss lane in the sunshine. Their goal was slightly contentious and I felt sorry for Adam Reid when it went it.Im looking forward to seeing how we play against Wrexham on Saturday

I didn't go, but getting the idea wasn't great performance, but if wasn't for a quick free kick, would had won the game. As Hughesy says, games like that in Cup/Trophy games away from home, we'd lose. So if that is the sign of the season ahead in cup competitions, I'd take that and kill the tie off at Moss Lane.

What I do like is how we've got the last Saturday before the season starts without a game. Get some decent training done that day, making sure prepared for Brackley rather than looking at what to do against pre season opposition.

What I learned tonight :

Rodgers is a capable stand in centre back.
Lacey looks useful and has decent vision.
Brooke is a far better option than Mitchley.
The shouting match between Densmore and Lawrie proves that the armband should go elsewhere - Danny Hall maybe ?

Nothing much else to write home about bar the pies. Not Pukka, some other phukka. I had cheese and onion, M9 Alty tried the steak and kidney, Foz had the latter AND a meat and potato (he's a growing lad). Universally approved. Blaney's apparently ? Assume they're local.

Oh, and that pitch has what I CALL a slope !

I agree with all this however I'd make Rodgers Captain

The food was brilliant - Chip bitty £1, burger and chips £2.50, pies peas and chips £2
