New Signing- Ryan Brooke
« on: May 26, 2012, 12:45:55 PM »

From main site:

Altrincham FC have agreed terms with 21 year-old Oldham Athletic striker Ryan Brooke (d.o.b. 4 October, 1990, height 6ft 1inch) who is being released by Oldham Athletic at the end of June 2012. Ryan spent much of 2011/12 season on loan, firstly from September 2011, at Barrow, where he played six games and scored twice. In January, 2012, Ryan went to AFC Telford United on a season-long loan and scored on his debut, against Braintree. At Telford, he made 7(+5) appearances in all, scoring twice. He had previously made 30 Football League and FA Cup appearances for Oldham Athletic.
2010/11 League 2(+11), 0 goals
2009/10 League 2(+13), 1 goal
2009/10 FA Cup 0(+1), 0 goals
2008/09 League 0(+1), 1 goal

looks like he's scored a few at conference level, hopefully he can be prolific in the BSN.

Sounds like a good signing. And isn't it nice to have a good chunk of our business done before the end of May?

Keep it up, Lee. Very impressed so far this summer.

Yes it is, is that 14 players we've signed? - just need a few defenders now

Not a prolific scorer but at 6' 1" he could be the perfect foil for McGivern/another new striker. Good luck at Alty Ryan.

Well, I'm not sure that a total of two Conference goals equates to "a few".....!

In contradiction of the statement on the official site, I'm not even certain that he ever scored for Barrow:

Here's his record at AFC Telford:

And here's a brief interview with him:

And here he is with AFC Teford's answer to Brian Flynn:

From an Oldham supporter................

Young lad, enthusiatic, looks decent to me - will be good for you I think. Lots expected of him at our gaff but fortunately we were blessed with loads of 20 goal plus strikers so he didn't get a sniff (Dickov messed up and should have give him a run out instead of Kuqi/Reid and others)
