TNS in FA trophy?

http://www.walesonline.co.uk/footballnation/welsh-premier-league/2012/04/22/saints-alive-as-welsh-premier-champions-get-fa-cup-go-ahead-91466-30810678/

WELSH PREMIER champions The New Saints have entered next season’s FA Cup.

The news will send shock-waves around Welsh football as the Saints – who won the Premier title for a sixth time yesterday by thrashing Bangor City 5-0 in a winner-takes-all clash – have been at the forefront of championing domestic competitions for 20 years.

Saints managing director Mike Harris refused to comment on the issue last night, saying only that the club would releasing a statement next week.

But the Football Association website confirmed that The New Saints are among the 940 clubs who have entered FA competitions for the 2012-13 season.

The New Saints are entered for the FA Cup and FA Trophy, while continuing to keep their Welsh football commitments.

Can't be true... Have I missed an obvious wind up? - why the Trophy?  ???

I wouldn't be surprised to see Oswestry based TNS try and join the English pyramid. They are a full time club, and there's only so many times you can lose 11-2 on aggregate to Viking stavanger in the uefa cup 1st qualifying round before getting a bit bored with it.My main concern is their plastic pitch.

To play in FA CUP, they need to have been in the Trophy or Vase this season

Have to find a grass pitch to play on as well......groundshare with the Vics anyone?  ;)

Well they are in Oswestry England, although I think as a company they are registered in Llansantffraid. Its a joke they paly in the Welsh league and maybe Mr Harris now wants a crack at the english pyramid ? (rumours circulating for the past 5 years !). Hopefully a change of kit / colours too  :)
