On a serious note, I look at fixtures like that one tonight and cannot help but think what might have been. I only hope we can rekindle the spirit of '91 one day because (even as a 9 year old) they were truly magical times. I know times have changed, but how I crave the opportunity to see Alty become a force once again!

We're reliant on the elusive FA Cup tie against a big club. It could happen. Burton bagged about £1 million from their run to Old Trafford that year and are now enjoying life in the FL.

We can dream!  ;D

The big FA cup tie is a catalyst but you often need the resources in place anyway. Burton already had the Nigel Clough factor and their new ground. There are plenty of other clubs who had their FA cup paydays yet slipped away not long after.
