As a very old fan ,I totally agree with the sentiments expressed by the contributers to this thread.
You don't choose to be an Alty fan, Alty chooses you,and then you're hooked.

I was born and bred within spitting distance of Moss lane. I left,  back in Sept 1969 when I joined the Army. All of my immediate family have either passed away or moved from the area. I have lived in many places since,  both in the UK and abroad. I have watched Anderlecht in Belguim, teams up in Scotland, and more recently Shrewsbury, none of those teams really got in my blood hence the reason  I still consider Alty my home and the one thing that makes me still return to this day, is Altrincham Fooball Club.
