Trying to work out what Workington are...
« on: August 15, 2011, 09:04:43 PM »

Finally found their forum and all the talk is that they they will win the league and go on great cup runs....so aren't to be taken lightly.

Then I see them advertising seats on the team bus and is this man as fat as he looks?  And are they the thinnest legs in football on the left?

I've just realised I don't actually know very much about this league

They have a good manager, but they have soms injury probs.
They will finish a good mid table.

Is it Paul Bastock?  The man goes on forever!

I used to give him grief when I was 14!

I reckon the Boston player will easily achieve his limbo under the crossbar.......he needs to have a go at a hurdle instead

The fat lad is David McNiven, another one who seems to have played on forever....

Certainly looks like him, last heard of at St Albans, so if so he's one mobile bloke.

It is Bastock but he plays for Boston, not Workington.

According to the NLP their keeper on Saturday was called Taylor.

As for the fat bloke, I don't think it's McNiven and I'm desperately hoping it's this chap (taken from our official site tonight)

Hopper, at right back, was beaten for pace on 15 minutes as Boston launched their first attack. The 35-year-old should be excused as this was his first competitive game in 13 months... Despite lacking the pace to keep up with quick wingers, Hopper’s impeccable positioning more than made up for it...

Bear in mind that his 'impeccable positioning' was deployed against Kevin Holsgrove on Saturday.

Tomorrow, you'll be marking Nicky Clee...

Shades of Joe Jakub against Terry/Sharratt?

I think Rosie is on the money Ballers & it is David McNiven.Paul Bastock in goal for Boston on Saturday....the man who kept a clean sheet for Fisher Athletic in April 1991....the night we won 22 corners & it ended 0-0!!!

Bastock still playing? I wasn't sure he was still alive.

I recall that we never really got close to scoring that night, very frustrating.

He's claiming to be 41:

Boston will be bringing back Jim Kabia next....
