Did Jamie Rampling get sent off in his first game at Emley back in 1998, Was he not Bernard Taylors nephew and lasted about 10 minutes?

Ramplin scored in that 3-0 win at Emley but I'm pretty certain that he didn't get sent off.

His Alty debut had actually occurred a fortnight earlier in a defeat at Worksop Town.

Was it Darren Heesom?

If so, not his costliest sending off for us againast a team beginning with K!!

I seem to recall that we often played Kettering either on the opening day or in August in days gone by.

Which I think leads me on to the most calamitous Alty debut of all time. For a chap named Dave Esser / Dave Serella??

Ballers,

No, I'm afraid that it wasn't Mister Heesom.

You are looking for a right full back who joined Alty from Bury.

I know where you are heading with the anecdote about Dave Serella incurring a serious injury on the opening day of the 1984/85 season against Kettering Town but that wasn't his debut for Alty, as he had played a few games for us towards the conclusion of the previous season.
