Classic stuff........Kevin Ellison & Gary Talbot's first Alty goals..............spotted Rocky Robin & Rosie in the crowd............& brilliant commentary...."It's a topsy turvy"!!!!

Kingstonian had some very good players then, didn't they?

Jesus, the last 12 birthdays have taken their toll....

I was living in Slutton at the time......virtually a home game for me then.

I did, very quickly in the bar afterwards. Mind you myself and Rocky did get our revenge later in the season as we boarded the Sutton supporters bus to Alty for our 3-0 win.

We won't mention anything else about that will we Rocky?

Farrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrelllllly.. In your most annoying taking the mick voice :)

UG, RR, MF and myself were quizzed by a rather upset K's director as to why the Alty faithful were hurling racist abuse. He was under the impression the shout was "You Black B*st*rd" aimed at one of their outfield lads. He was relieved to learn it was in fact "You M*cc B*s*trd" sung for the benefit of Mr Farrelly, who when questioned by us kindly confirmed this and turned out to be a top bloke.

Highlight of the day was a leisurely drink in the directors bar (we were the self appointed London Alty after all) where we came face to face with the FA Trophy (K's were holders) and bizzarely Chris Kelly - the Leatherhead Lip who was a director at Kingstonian. Having reminded him at length(!) of the 78 final he did reveal Kingy had scared the living daylights out of his team in the tunnel.

First point of the season rather spoiled by having to accept that two sworn enemies were in fact, alright really.

Does anyone else remember a bare-footed Tony Rigby doing kick-ups on the pitch that day?

I think he saw his arse because he'd been named as a sub so he didn't play at all.

If I remember correctly, Tony Rigby possessed a considerable arse to see....
