PLAYOFF FINAL
« on: May 12, 2011, 09:53:25 PM »

Is somebody having a laugh? I note from the AFC Wimbledon website that tickets for the playoff final at the Wastelands on May 21st can be purchased for the bargain price of £36 (yes, thirty-six quid!); concessions (£18) are available in one area; and an extra seating area priced at £41 may be opened up if there's a demand for it. There's also a booking fee (£3, I think) and postage (£2.25). If that is all true - and why would it appear on their site if it wasn't - then any neutral going to the game will clearly be certifiable and fans of the clubs involved will be much the poorer for the experience. And this is Division 5 ...?

I think £36 for a cup final is OK.

Remember Luton is £18 every other week.

IIRC ticks were £10/12 back in 86

£36 is ridiculous. It should be £20 maximum price for tickets. The fans get ripped off again. But people will still pay them prices. Especially the £80 minimum to watch the Champions League Final.

£36 to watch Luton - Wimbledon.

That's not bad. I've just paid £50 to watch Nottingham Forest vs Swansea.

Mind you the £50 was for 2 adults and 2 kids!

Was just wondering are you able to get tickets through the club for this game or not?

One of my City fan mates was offered a Cup Final ticket for £1,000. When he said it was a lot of money, the guy pointed out that if he'd had the foresight to save 75p a week for the last 35 years, he'd have had enough for the train fare and a few beers as well   ;D

What planet are you on? It's a game deciding who goes from the 5th to the 4th tier of English football. The vast majority of fans will have to drop a lot of money on travel for starters, then £36 for a ticket on top of that? Crazy, absolutely crazy. As for neutrals - there will be very, very few now they've elected for that price. Nuts.

Prices should be an average of what the two teams taking part charge for home games. Its not a cup final its a play off final - an extra league game - albeit an important one for both teams involved. Fans of AFC &  Luton will pay regardless of how much they are. How much would Alty fans be prepared to pay for a conference north play offf final ticket?

I assume prices are dictated by the cost of hiring the City of Manchester stadium. At least our ballboys have been awarded the honour of covering the final.

There's also the travel. If this had been between two northern/midlands teams it wouldn't have seemed as harsh. Shame Wembley wasn't available/an option.

Its good to read that the ballboys have been picked to do the game, it will give some good publicity for our club as well...
