The great little ghost town of Altrincham with all it's boarded
up shops & hardly any market left has just got even worse
this weekend,it has just lost it's only national identity that
it had left,ALTRINCHAM FOOTBALL CLUB.I sincerely hope
that all you present & prospective councillors are aware of
this fact & that your town has just gone off the radar. For me
& I'm sure many more,it is one of the only things about
Alty that  I enjoy anymore & this weekend I consider the
town as suffered a great loss with it's teams relegation from
national competition. To say that I am gutted this morning is
an understatement.

Trafford council wont be bothered, they have no interest in sports seeing as they have manchester united to put on their CV other than that they are not bothered.Which other local authority would allow a premiership rugby team to leave the borough, and let sale harrier relocate over the border in rmanchester, their imout into local sports is dreadful, always has been, compare them to tameside, who actively back their local clubs financially, and even built a new stadium, and are desperate to have a football league team

Pete,I totally agree with your comments,I am just mainly
pointing out that the name of Altrincham being seen or
heard every week at national level in the results programmes
etc,is a great loss to the town.Maybe one day these certain
people will appreciate that a successful football club is a good
advert for promoting the town as well. This was the case in
our great F.A.Cup years,or has this been forgotten now.
