Sometimes I think people on here make the mistake of thinking that the forum and the terraces are the same thing, ie that we should all get behind the team at all times, no matter what, because any negativity will transmit itself to the players. But a fans' forum is exactly what the name suggests: a place just for fans. If I were a player, I'd leave the forum well alone because there's always the danger with eavesdropping that you'll end up hearing something uncomplimentary about yourself.

I dislike people being negative on the terraces but I can't see the problem with it here. In fact what I value in forum posters is not partisanship but unvarnished honesty. And if that means being negative, so be it.

Is now the time to worry? I'd say so. I've been worried all season.

Excellent post.

The thing I feel negative about is that we have nothing up front and don't think we will be able to get anyone good enough in. There could be 40 more games in the season but with Twiss, Beesley and Reeves how many will we score?  :-\

Am I alone in thinking that the decision to release Dale Johnson is now looking more and more ludicrous?

I know his goals to game ratio was poor, but he did make space and create chances for people. I'd certainly feel happier going into the Newport game with Dale up top trying to hold the ball up and feed Reeves in than with Beesley jogging around doing very little...

I have to say I wasn't that bothered we he was released. But...

Now I would much rather have Johnson or even, dare I say it, Mccarthy than two of the useless lumps we have at present.

Perhaps this is crazy but could we play Baynes up front?

As part of a big man small man partnership I'm certain Baynes could be useful. As it is, I don't think it would work well with Reeves, Twiss is still embarrassing himself by lumbering around 15lb overweight, whilst Beesley is anonymous.

I still think we can survive, but I agree with you that something needs to change up front. I don't know whether we can beg for a FL striker on loan, or even to ask Greg or Robbie to play up front to win knocks-down. On quite a few occasions in recent years we've thrown Young, Williams or Shotton up front, and looked infinitely more dangerous as a result.

Look at the teams around us and our results against them.

Look at how many times we say to ourselves "it was a one off bad performance".

I hope we stay up, I hope we battle hard, I hope we all (certainly I will) get behind the players every game.

However the simple truth of the matter is it is a one off when we play well, we don't do enough battling on the field and to be honest we are not good enough for this league.

We are poor, very poor, simple as that, like it or not but we are not good enough (with the exception of maybe two or three players) for this league.

Anyway.....

Here is hoping for a win on saturday and turn around in results so that we can stay up and rebuild for next season.

I would actually go as far as saying that its a travesty that dale johnson was pushed out because of twiss being here, he would'nt of set the world alight i know but he had more spirit in his little finger and i reckon he would have scored more than 3 goals this season

It wasn't the goals Dale scored, it was the ones he set up for others.

HOWEVER - Dale wasn't "pushed out". He ASKED to be released to go back to Hyde. Lack of ambition ? Possibly, but if he was out of his comfort zone in BSP I can understand it.

Two negatives make a positive if I remember rightly.

The team is poor, thats one negative.

We need a new shirt sponsper at the end of this season, thats another negative.

So added together we get a positive. I'm just not sure what it is.
