This could lead to the first recorded instance of Liverpool supporters cheering for Manchester United.

I don't buy the Sun and I won't be watching the match on Saturday.

Totally uninterested on both counts.

"...against our rival 'Red Devils', Manchester United..."

Having followed United for over 20yrs (as well as Alty) I was not aware of any such rivalry! This is the kind of self importance / promotion usually reserved for Twitter users.

I would hope we as a club wouldnt be classless enough to remove our main sponsor in place of the sun newspaper, regardless of what money was on offer, thats if we ever happen to progress beyond the qualify rounds ever again...

Wasnt it John Major who wanted a Classless Society ?  ;)

Bagpuss and his mob will certainly achieve that  :D

Really? I'd say this would be a really tough decision, even before addressing your "regardless of what money was on offer" point. Goodwins is sympathetic to Altrincham and would probably say "go for it", plus I would suspect national coverage for a regional coach company is counter-productive given the vast sums of money required to invest in new vehicles and grow the business.

For a club as hard up as we are, I think flatly turning down 50k for this kind of initiative wouldn't be wise without consultation, and "regardless of the money" would be lunacy. I dont think "class" has anything to do with it. If your Paddy Power's or The Sun's of this world are prepared to invest what we would class as large sums, in activity with negligble return like this...then i'd have their hand off everytime!

Didn't we change shirt sponsor for the 4th round game at York in 1986? Or is it just the grey shirt that's stuck in the memory?

I still think we should approach McDonald's or Burger King before we go to Forest Green. A one off shirt deal and the attendant publicity could do us a power of good !

Crawley have sold 300 season-tickets since the draw - so people would be guaranteed a ticket - which at 147 (half season ticket) could mean up top 44,000 grand extra ontop of this

adult ticket for saturday is £41

My God, not only have they recorded an FA Cup song, but one of their fans was caught making Munich airplane gestures in the videos.

Class.

That FA Cup Fourth Round tie at York City back in 1986 saw the one-off appearance of Salford Van Hire as the sponsor named on Alty's (grey) shirts.

Cue old jokes about a Dutch footballer...
