James Smith Stays
« on: January 31, 2011, 10:49:15 PM »

From official site

James Smith appears to be set to stay at Moss Lane after an approach from Stockport County for the Alty defender. The County offer for James was not acceptable to the Alty Board and the Stockport club has indicated it will not increase its bid.

Good news, and james is obviously a sensible lad.

This is good news, well done to the club for not accepting any silly offers as well!

And let's really get behind him these next few games and let him know how much we appreciate him!

I think that the Alty faithful have always shown how much they appreciate him but I agree
showing that bit more will convince him that he is better off staying with us.Also the match
sponsors have shown it by making him man of the match on numerous occasions, long may he
stay in the red & white striped shirt..

Unfortunately, I think the chances of keeping him in the summer even when we stay up, are pretty slim. It's a shame we're not don't/can't to extend contracts before they expire ie. Youngy, Senior. I know this has to be agreeable to all parties but it makes it difficult to progress if we're losing our best players and for £0.
