Good result when it doesn't sound like we got the best of the refs decisions.

Absolutely delighted that we got the late equaliser. It sounds like another really good effort from the boys to build on Tuesday.

As someone else mentioned, the fact that Denham seems to be hitting form and fitness could be of huge importance.

Good to see them fighting back till the end, the stuff we need. Decent gate too, above average so a bit extra in the coffers.

Good match that, good atmos & overall 2-2 probably about fair to both sides. 2 excellent goals too -Grimsby's 2nd was a great strike & no keeper would have got near it, Alty's first from Chris Denham was also top notch, a great run and finish.

Nice to see the boys fighting back from going one nil and 2-1 down, credit to Ken McK for getting the boys heads up and encouraging them to the end - it paid off and simply would not have happened 2 weeks ago. Fantastic to see Smithy rampaging up the right wing at the end and putting over a great cross for Shaun to put away - marvellous!

Coates made a couple of excellent saves in the second half and looked solid. He and Denham were particularly outstanding today, but all the boys did well.

Sounds like the Ref did us absolutely no favours today either and to come back like that not once but twice to get a point against a big outfit like Grimsby is a fantastic effort.

True, the ref made 2 massive balls ups in the first half - blatant Alty penalty not given and clear foul on Coatesy for Grimsby's first. We had bad luck but fought back very well.

How both the ref and linesman didnt see that foul on Coatesy was beyond belief, the striker barged into him as the ball came down before the ball arrived leaving him on his arse in the net, you couldnt see a more blatant foul, yet Densmore had his legs taken away in their box just after that but the ref waved away the appeals.

This was another really gutsy performance, especially as Welch went off injured in first half and they had to re-organise the defence then and again after HT when hewson came on for Brown and densmore played second half at left wing back,.... versatile player he is. Denham's goal was pure class and he was MOM for sure, really looks a hell of a player at present.

If we keep playing with this spirit we will be OK ;D ;)

Sadly I couldn't go today, but for me this quote sums it up well. Forget the ref, the penalty, the result - a few weeks ago we'd have gone to pieces losing a goal 15 minutes from time. New spirit and new hope for the Alty.

This sounds interesting...

"A small section of the visiting fans did not take kindly to the outcome and neither did their captain who refused his Away Man of the Match award in no uncertain terms."
