Ground Amnesty
« on: June 02, 2010, 05:58:34 PM »

After reading the post on the fixtures we are all looking forward to next season I thought I would help us all dust down our skeletons whilst we are out of season.

I want to hear of the grounds you are embarrassed to say you have never seen the Alty at.

I will start with a couple of corkers.....

28 years of support; never been to:

dispite these two being the closest, ive never been

1. Deva stadium, chester
2. Victoria stadium, northwich

Always seem to work when we played chester and vics. Don't think i missed much though.

Twerton Park, Bath, though this of course will change in the coming season. International Stadium, Gateshead.

We haven't played a league game at Macc now for 13 years so sadly the Moss Rose virgins will become more and more commonplace.

It pains me to admit after 57 years........neither Witton Albion ground. I've also signally failed to make it to York. Finances will have to improve dramatically if I'm to manage any away games this coming season. Didn't get to any in the season just finished either.

Never went to the Drill Field. Vics games during that time always seemed to fall on family events, and didn't go to the CSC Final there due to school next day and not being able to get there. Also Canal Street.

Chester City

York

Camebridge

Given how many of the tiny gash unibond grounds ive been to watching alty, I irritate myself thinking that I havent made it to many of the big 'league' grounds that we grace every season now. Having spent rainy Tuesdays at Vauxhall and Bromsgrove its a real remider how far weve come to play these stadiums. I went the kassam last year and I couldnt help smiling at the people celebrating in the exec boxes when Oxford scored.

Althoug part of me still pines for a trip to Worksop, always seemed to be a good atmosphere holed up in there!
