Reeves' form this season when he has come on hasn't been great - poor first touch and keeps falling over.

The club don't care.

People have been complaining about the scaffolding/segregation issue on the Popular Side for years and nothing's changed.

I would have given him another go. Good player with the potential to score goals.

and could something be done to ensure that the Golf Road goalposts don't lean backwards quite as obviously as they do now (next time you're walking round from the Golf Road to the Pop Side stop and look down the goal-line & you'll see what I mean!).

Yes! I hear comments every week from away fans in the family stand commenting on the wonky goalposts. It looks really tinpot and Sunday league.

I sit in the family stand as my dad is unable to stand for long periods of time and is unable to make it up the steps in the main stand. It's bad enough that random away fans end up there (despite not paying for sitting and just walking through from the away end). Quite often we can be surrounded by away fans who don't appreciate that it's a family stand and start effing and jeffin and picking arguments with the Alty fans.

I see it's people who don't sit in the family stand who are quite happy for it to be handed over to away supporters, without thinking about the Alty fans that sit there.

This whole thread sums up this forum - needlessly bitching about the club/Sinnot through to sh*t puns.

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Greatest FA Cup Shocks
« on: January 28, 2015, 08:43:09 AM »
Still can't understand how a top seven Premier League (as it's called now) team winning the FA Cup in 1988 was a shock.

There was only 6 places between them in the football pyramid.

Exactly. Man City were expected to beat Wigan who were near the bottom of the league. That should be considered a bigger shock than the 1988 one.

Would have preferred somebody with a strong connection to the town, if not the club. No big names required, could have been the local police officer, head teacher etc.

Got to be better than the local MP!!!

I would prefer to have Steve Evans, Frank Sinclair or Jeff Forshaw open it than have the local MP within 100 miles of it

Absolutely ridiculous thing to say.

Why?

To say that he'd rather have Evans or Sinclair open the Hall, rather than Graham Brady is just a nonsensical thing to say,

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Loan Deal

Wilko gets the "action" picture on the back page of today's Stockport Express. I note that he isn't allowed to turn out for County in the FAT this weekend, even though he isn't actually cup-tied (do they still call it that?)

Maybe that's so he'd be available for Alty in the Trophy if we recalled him/the loan finished.

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Why bother with the sterile area ?
« on: January 02, 2015, 07:47:35 AM »
The club seem to disregard the wishes of the home supporters, so why don't they just keep the Golf Rd end just for us lot and let the away fans have the chequers end and the whole of the popular side (or up to the scaffolding). We wouldn't want the poor loves in the away end from getting wet or not having the run of the place.

Sod the home fans.

That's an excellent TV gantry. No blocked views there.

And the sterile area isn't half a mile wide ;)
