I'm going for a double header this weekend as Rory's grandma is a Man Utd womens season ticket holder as indeed I am. On the Sunday by some amazing coincidence West Ham Women play United women at the daggers stadium.
What were the odds of that?
I was telling her when we booked (which was prior to the last four Alty games) she was in for a real football treat on the Saturday at least.
Will I have some explaining to do?

« on: February 22, 2024, 09:44:12 AM »Maidenhead know the drill at this level & all their recent away games have been tight & low scoring. That said, it’s absolutely a game we have to win if we are serious about the play offs. Assume it’s our standard first XI back in, although again Parky will have one eye on Southend the following Tuesday too. No City or United clashes on Saturday so hoping we can push towards 2,500 again. I’ll say 2-0 Alty in front of 2,358 (56 away).United v Fulham at 3pm.

The highlight of the TV broadcast was seeing Hughesy's dapper cap amongst the Alty faithful.
Hoping that was a one-off and things will be much better at Hartlepool on Tuesday evening.
Are you referring to the improvement of the teams performance or Hughsy's headware?

I don't like to think of myself as a cold hearted kind of person but I find moving ground something akin to indifference. Moss Lane is full of happy memories and some not so memorable times. They're all in the past and won't be forgotten. However, it's looking forward to the future that counts and if staying put is solely for nostalgia and sentimentality it's for the wrong reasons. If moving is deemed the right thing to do to drive the club onwards and upwards I'm all for it. It won't delete the memory of the JDS/Moss Lane.
