Ig he's staying wher most new arrivals to both united and city usually stay, then it would be reasonable to expect he would be taken along.

Altrincham FC First Team / CARLOS TEVEZ at moss lane tomorrow??
« on: July 17, 2007, 09:18:26 PM »
Rumour has it that Manchester Uniteds "almost" New signing might be popping along to moss lane tomorrow evening, especially with him staying just around the corner. I wonder if Neville and Saha are going to get a run out? Might be worth "timperley the best" popping a note on red issue that the boy tevez could well be in town for any MUFC autograph hunters. Remember eveyone suprise when £29 million signing Juan Veron turned up at moss lane a couple of days after signing for United to see us play out a 1-1 draw against whitby!! Anyone still got that photo of him in the mainstand signing autographs???

Hughesey-I think the crowd was about 1100 for the game in which Paul Scholes played & scored in 1999.

Blimey, pretty regulation crowd for these days, it seems such a big crowd back then! Shows how far we've come!

£5 adults £2 for kids on saturday, I think you can go anywhwere in the ground for that on saturday. There is a car park at the ground, but it does get full, how full it will get or a friendly remains to be seen, otherwise there is street parking within easy distance of the ground.

These may help aswell.

As was the case with the Hyde United v Man Utd X1 on saturday, you would imagine it will be a mixture of

this

And this

Any any fringe first team squad members who havent travelled to the far east.

As is usually the case when a United side visit, I expect a decent crowd for a friendly and who knows what the score might be,they have been so different over the years! Am I right in thinking this is the first United side to visit since 2003? I remember beckham scoring a beauty one year from near the half way line in a 1-1 draw and also one year a really big crowd (flynny might be able to provide figures) when scholes and a few otehr "faces" played

In Brief

Mckenna v Kettering
France v southport
Little v Barrow
and I think despite all those fantasic memories, for me the most important of all in recent years, Rodders 95th minute winner to spark mass pitch invasion at BPA.For me,that result won us promotion, the never say die spirit of that season was hightlighted on lots of occasions towards the end of the season, but for me, failure to win against already relegated bradford would have seen us finish outside the top five. And who knows where we woud be now.Can still see it happening again in slow motion now.

And A special mention for Nick Welton for his late salvo at gateshead to keep us in the Trophy in 03-04,sending us on that run that took in weymouth and shrewsbury.

I have installed Setanta this evening and the picture is a bit grainy to be honest.

Watched a bit of Lens v Lyon, could be quite a good channel for random and bizarre sporting events, I suppose the "Blue Square Premier" fits the bill in that respect!!!!

Im looking forward to the  bemused jocks reactions to watching Salisbury v Woking of a thursday night, over a pint of whiskey  live on the big screen in the heart attack arms and the fried mars bar tavern

I can actually comment on this.

I didn't see the incident with Pottsy on the way in but was there when the 'Senior Syeward' was dealing with the aftermath.

Pottsy came out and I checked with him whether there had been just a childish action or, as was initially suspected, the Bury 'Fan' had taken a swing at him. Pottsy replied that it had been just a silly childish action and that there hadn't been anything else in it.

The group of 'fans' referred to were abusive to Pottsy and the senior steward and caused problems from that point onward to the extent that two stewards were put on to 'man mark' them whilst they were in the main stand blocking stairways and generally being a pain in the arse.

The Senior Steward involved in this incident behaved in an exemplary manner and the matter was resolved so successfully that it didn't even warrant a mention on the Match report.

Shame, it sounds like they needed knocking out, probably trying it on because they were playing a "non-league" club and dont realise that conference grounds, especially those with a football league grading are bound by the same rules and regulations as all football league grounds. If he'd tried that at most other grounds, friendly or league fixture, his arse wouldnt have touched the ground until it bounced down on the pavement outside.Well done to the steward in question and Phil for keeping it from becoming a noteworthy incident. How come we never have these problems when conference clubs visit, even those with proper naaaaawty boys?

Glad you enjoyed it, hopefully after seeing a few friendlies you'll be tempted to take in the first league game aginst Exeter City, There will be at least four times as many people in attendance for that one  ;D
