Kidderminster Harriers announce that "Following the end of the season and our defeat at Wembley on Saturday it was time for the clear out to begin at Aggborough . The first of the current squad to face the long walk away from Mark Yates's office were Gary Hay, Andy White, Luke Reynolds, Jake Sedgemore and Scott Eaton. ""Jake Sedgemore wanting to go part time next season to spend more time with his architect career.... ""

We need to find the sort of lads that have the ability BUT want part time football, Im suprised we have not been in contact and offered Paul Ellender some sort of deal if we need a centre back, the poor bastard hasnt been paid since jan and has every right to walk away from his contract, and Im suire would be happy to come back to Alty if he was offered reasonable terms.

Altrincham FC First Team / Ive got a fundraising idea
« on: May 15, 2007, 01:51:34 PM »
Why dont the club hold a competition to win a squad place at Alty for next season, a bit along the lines of that thing they did for chelsea on TV?.Hold some "open trials" days at moss lane and charge those that wish to enter or think they're good enough to enter "a fee" for entering ( I think fc manchester did a simlar thing the other year). This could make some decent money for the club and even unearth some talent. Advertise it well at all local clubs/sports colleges and the like, who knows it could be a success.

Thoughts?

Altrincham FC First Team / Plenty of twists and turns yet
« on: May 11, 2007, 08:58:29 AM »
I wouldnt be so sure about anything until the AGM, there is clubs in absolute turmoil all over this f**king league, and if the league dont want showing up as idiots again, especially now they have new sponsors and a new TV deal giving them more coverage than ever before, then if they are going to weild the broom it will be at this years AGM.For me Boston United has a another Newport County written all over it, and due to the FA insisting the league take them, the conference may well be left with egg on its face once again. And the fixtures all in chaos should they suddenly go pop in october, could the conference not agree to accept them and put them in conf north to lower their wage budget and reduce their travelling costs and over all spending?

Another club in trouble that few seem to mention are halifax

http://www.halifaxtoday.co.uk/local-news?articleid=2862291

As for Crawley town saying they have "the all clear to play in the conf national next year"
They haven't been told they have the all clear. That is their spin on events. They have been told that the cva does not preclude them from being eligible to seek membership, a very different thing.

They will, like all other conference clubs be subject to providing reassurances about their ability to meet the membership criteria for the season ahead. Given the events at crawley over the past year, it is by no means certain that their memership of the conference will automatically be ratified at the conference AGM

Boston and Evans given Conference green light
May 10, 2007 by Scotty
Both Boston United and their controversial manager Steve Evans have been given the go ahead to compete in the Blue Square Premier League 2007-8 (formerly the Nationwide Conference).

There were doubts with United's financial postion that the Conference chief executive John Moules would reject The Pilgrims, however the Football Association have leant weight to allow them to start in August.

Evans has been subject to rumours over the last few seasons with respect to a 5 or 10 year managerial ban from the Conference, however this has been confirmed as nonsense by the FA. "That ban lasted for 20 months, which would leave him free to manage in the Conference if he so wished," said a spokesman.

Altrincham FC First Team / Next Saturdays visit to tamworth
« on: April 15, 2007, 09:17:26 AM »
There shouldnt be an able bodied Alty supporter that misses this fixture next week, we need to recreate the spirit of the play offs.
The players will be lifted by a packed away terrace and tamworth, lets make sure they get the turnout that this years efforts deserve.

Book your coach places early as Im sure demand will be very very high, book through the club on 0161-9281045 during the week  via the normal channels.

Roar the lads on to cement their place in the conference for another year.

All those that can travel to St Albans city on saturday must try and  make the effort to go to hertfordshire, its a massive game for the club and if the players see a a few hundred travelling fans on the away end we can really make up that 12th man. I know that supporters coach is well subscribed already, Ive got a full car, and we must hope that all the southernm based exiles can make it to clarence park. Come on,one last big effort and we can roar the lads home.

Released by Marine, surely worth giving the lad a chance knowing his previous talents, might inject that bit of pace we lack.

Now any ideas how the rest of us can get in for free aswell??  ;D ;)

Altrincham FC First Team / Right Bastards!

I want to hear no more talk of relegation, do we need new front men, or any other non helpful tripe. If your going to Crawley tomorrow, get behind the lads for 90 minutes, its times like this they need our support, not when things are going well, I also hope that every southern exile does their bit tomorrow by attending the crawley fixture, we had an excellent turn out down there last season boosted by lots of southern exiles, so remember your club needs you to do your duty at this time, the lads needs all the support they can from every section of our support.

If you arent going tomorrow, try and re-schedule what you had planned to do, and get down there, failing that then make sure your at northwich on tuesday night for what could be our second straight away win on the trot.

There is a third of the season left yet and 40+ points up for grabs, so lets see some positive thought from everybody, 70 odd live games and lots of TV money up for grabs next season, so never mind all this I prefer the conference north bollocks, this is where its at, and this is where we want to be at,travel in large numbers tomorrow and in legions northwich,We know we have a team more than capable of doing the job, a few defeats and everyones head drops, well players, fans alike need to get their heads back up and get this job boxed off sooner rather than later. See you all tomrrow
