Altrincham FC First Team / Gut feelings for saturdays AGM
« on: June 07, 2007, 07:00:19 PM »
So,how is everybodies mindset? Is there a chance we may be playing conference national football next season? I get the feeling they may just let things go on as they are and hope for the best. The silence coming from the conference is pretty baffling, unless, as in war of the worlds they are "quietly drawing up there plans against us" so to speak and have been watching on with interest and already know the outcome of saturdays AGM and have decided a club or two is in for the high jump and will reveal all in bournemouth on saturday.

"I've come to Crawley as they have the infrastructure in place"
Soon followed by, "I've left Boston as a matter of principle"
Im losing all faith in football,I really am.

Altrincham FC First Team / Season tickets
« on: May 24, 2007, 11:37:06 AM »
Im thinking of buying my first ever season ticket, hows about all those that go most games and dont usually buy a season ticket get one this year? Could we as fans help the club achieve record season ticket sales despite droppng out of the conference,it would be a great boost for all involved with the club, and would make a really positive media story.
I think they are £170

Just yuo watch these wankers go bust in september once we're already underway in the tinpot league
From This is Lincs says that "Boston United's unpaid players have grave concerns the club will not live to see next season, according to midfielder Stewart Talbot. Senior members of the Pilgrims' squad will quiz chief executive Barrie Pierpoint on a number of issues, including their wages, which are three months overdue, and the plans of takeover consortium Standing Alone Limited. Skipper Paul Ellender, defender Mark Greaves and goalkeeper Andy Marriott will attend the meeting, while Talbot is in regular contact with the Professional Footballers' Association. 'We're not just concerned about whether our wages are going to be met, we're worried whether the club is even going to survive - that's the biggest issue', explained Talbot. 'Nothing seems to be happening, but enough is enough - we want some answers'... Pierpoint admits the current situation is unacceptable and is looking forward to meeting the players for the first time tomorrow...'Things aren't progressing as quickly as I would like', admitted Pierpoint. 'However, I expect things to become a lot clearer by tomorrow'".

Altrincham FC First Team / More funds for the club through the summer - buy now!!!
« on: May 22, 2007, 12:57:08 PM »
Im just off to the club to collect the Alty replica shorts I've ordered for my holidays, I've ordered one home and one away, £15 a pair, I think Ex-gk posted on here a while back that he's taking orders all through the summer for replica kits and shorts etc, hopefully all those going away this summer wil purchase a pair andl be on the seafront in their Alty shorts.Giving the club some extra bits of funds throughout the summer.
And hopefully we as fans can do our bit to make sure the club has record sales of the new home kit despite relegation to give the club a boost by the time the first game comes around.
Get ordering now with jeny on 0161-9281045

« on: May 18, 2007, 01:38:02 PM »
The usual can't keep throwing money at the team,we'll look at ways of making the club self sufficient type statement that all these sugar daddies release shortly before leaving their clubs.

There seems to be mixed opinion in the camp from their forum aswell

Altrincham FC First Team / Sort of player we shuold be looking at ????
« on: May 17, 2007, 01:38:11 PM »
Kidderminster Harriers announce that "Following the end of the season and our defeat at Wembley on Saturday it was time for the clear out to begin at Aggborough . The first of the current squad to face the long walk away from Mark Yates's office were Gary Hay, Andy White, Luke Reynolds, Jake Sedgemore and Scott Eaton. ""Jake Sedgemore wanting to go part time next season to spend more time with his architect career.... ""
We need to find the sort of lads that have the ability BUT want part time football, Im suprised we have not been in contact and offered Paul Ellender some sort of deal if we need a centre back, the poor bastard hasnt been paid since jan and has every right to walk away from his contract, and Im suire would be happy to come back to Alty if he was offered reasonable terms.

Altrincham FC First Team / Ive got a fundraising idea
« on: May 15, 2007, 01:51:34 PM »
Why dont the club hold a competition to win a squad place at Alty for next season, a bit along the lines of that thing they did for chelsea on TV?.Hold some "open trials" days at moss lane and charge those that wish to enter or think they're good enough to enter "a fee" for entering ( I think fc manchester did a simlar thing the other year). This could make some decent money for the club and even unearth some talent. Advertise it well at all local clubs/sports colleges and the like, who knows it could be a success.

Altrincham FC First Team / Plenty of twists and turns yet
« on: May 11, 2007, 08:58:29 AM »
I wouldnt be so sure about anything until the AGM, there is clubs in absolute turmoil all over this f**king league, and if the league dont want showing up as idiots again, especially now they have new sponsors and a new TV deal giving them more coverage than ever before, then if they are going to weild the broom it will be at this years AGM.For me Boston United has a another Newport County written all over it, and due to the FA insisting the league take them, the conference may well be left with egg on its face once again. And the fixtures all in chaos should they suddenly go pop in october, could the conference not agree to accept them and put them in conf north to lower their wage budget and reduce their travelling costs and over all spending?
Another club in trouble that few seem to mention are halifax
http://www.halifaxtoday.co.uk/local-news?articleid=2862291
As for Crawley town saying they have "the all clear to play in the conf national next year"
They haven't been told they have the all clear. That is their spin on events. They have been told that the cva does not preclude them from being eligible to seek membership, a very different thing.
They will, like all other conference clubs be subject to providing reassurances about their ability to meet the membership criteria for the season ahead. Given the events at crawley over the past year, it is by no means certain that their memership of the conference will automatically be ratified at the conference AGM
