Altrincham FC First Team / Ha Ha Halifax

altrincham are a poor side that we really need to be beating, we gifted them two goals and just like last season, they time-wasted their way to a draw, fair play to them, they were delighted with a point at the shay.

As a collective group, one of the main things that has pulled us through in the last few years needs to be remembered,as it is a priceless comodity, and something all the sugar daddies in the world could not buy for their football clubs. We have games coming thick and fast, and so we all need to take a step back, take a deep breath, and put things into perspective, and resume the task ahead. We need that priceless comodity to resurface, starting right now.

On saturday the station pub (formally the porterhouse) will be opening between 9am and 11am for all Alty/exeter/football fans, offering breakfast and a pint for a fiver, by way of celebrating the dawn of the new season. The station is one of the few pubs in the town that does its bit to promote the football club, with their fixture posters, numerous replica alty shirts, and the framed Alty programmes and memorabilla from yester year.

Lets see lots of alty fans in for breakfast before the social club opens, using one of the towns pubs that proudly displays the clubs colours. For those who dont know it, its the pub directly opposite the clock.

Altrincham FC First Team / New Siginings before saturday?
« on: August 08, 2007, 08:47:40 PM »
Who reackons any suprise additions will be made to the squad before saturday? Will we see a left back come in? Will we see another shock signing like that of gareth whalley? Will we see a loan signing come in, or do we all think the squad is complete for now??

Then I think Pottsy should start the game, it might be kidology on the part of Mr Tisdale suggesting 3 centre backs,2 wingbacks,2 holding midfielders and 3 forwards in an opening game of the season away from home. However, Should he play this formation, then we need to use the space created and out score them, maybe even go with two wingers? Or is it a case of keeping it tight early on and have a go at them in the second half? Im still half thinking this is not the formation he'll end up putting out,we must attack Exeter though, fly at them and test the defence from the first minute. And should they be as bold as to start with the formation suggested, then we must beat them on the flanks, which can be done with Potts,Peyton,Senior and whalley.Id have Bob lawton in the middle of the park aswell with sedge.
Discuss.

« on: August 02, 2007, 05:47:33 PM »

Altrincham FC First Team / Saturday versus T.N.S (Welsh Champions)
« on: July 31, 2007, 10:14:13 PM »
Im sure the club are delighted with the turnouts for the four friendly games so far, an average gate of 599 is a fantastic effort considering that was an average league gate just a few short years ago. Lets make sure as many people as possible get to moss lane on saturday and welcome back true alty legend Ken Mckenna with his team of welsh league champions.

What a great curtain raiser I think this game is, and I've wanted to see us try our mettle against a decent welsh league side for a number of years.

Im sure Graham will be usuing this as a practise run for the exeter game, so we'll most likely be at full strength, so lets have yet another decent friendly gate to show the lads we're al going to be getting right behind them from the 11th, heres hoping for a great cross border tussle, against what Im assured are a good side,  BRING ON THE TAFFS.

Altrincham FC First Team / What Team would you put out tonight??
« on: July 30, 2007, 03:48:36 PM »
I'd like to think we'll start these two friendlies with our strongest side playing, I'd like us to line up like this (assuming Peyton is fit)

Coburn

Lane
Munroe
Tinson
Peyton

Potts
Lawton
Sedgemore
Senior

Little
O'neil

With all other squad members and trialists on the bench

However, should we have a left back on trial tonight then I would like see them.

Thoughts???
