Altrincham FC First Team / Today's Sponsored Walk
« on: October 16, 2011, 05:37:09 PM »
The 10 people doing the sponsored walk completed the first leg today. Mark did very well. Remember how hard a walk like that is for somebody with MND. Congratulations to all who took part and please consider sponsoring a walker for the next leg if you have not done so already.

Well done to all walkers!

Altrincham FC First Team / Who do we think will replace Mullholland?
« on: October 12, 2011, 01:10:31 PM »
Will we be getting a new striker in or will we make do with what we have, perhaps putting Watmore on the bench?

Personally I would like to see a new striker, if we could afford it.

Altrincham FC First Team / I Am a Young Fan
« on: October 01, 2011, 06:03:38 PM »
and I've got a question. Can anybody give me a reason to keep going every week, spending my money and time watching, let's face it, a poor standard of football. Can anyone tell me why I shouldn't just watch United every week on telly? I've had a sh*t week and looked forward to this but now I just feel let down. And that's always the story isn't it? Never seen Alty do very well and it just feels so hopeless.

I'm not saying I am going to stop coming I'm just feeling very p*ssed off after today. I will always be an Alty fan but will I always maintain the same level of enthusiasm? Very difficult at the moment.

One day I went to Solihull,
and that weekend I was full,
of naive optimism for my team

What I saw that day was dire,
and ever after I could tire,
of woeful hoofball tactics up to Twiss

Williams was truly appalling,
Matt Fearon is no Chris smalling,
and Astley Mullholland's pretty poor

Zodiac cola tastes like p*ss,
but it's not as bad as another  Reeves miss,
as he spurns another golden chance on goal

Shouts of "Come on!" from Birch brother Dennis,
I've got to get away from that moaning menace!

Awful weather, result and a pretty sh*t ground,
that weekend, the only thing I found,
is that following Alty FC is pretty tedious!

Altrincham FC First Team / Quick Question: Alty on Football Manager
« on: September 02, 2011, 02:22:08 PM »
Can anyone who played Football Manager with Alty tell me; were there any things you thought were majorly off? I don't mean in terms of a minor stat change, I mean something you instantly saw as inaccurate? Cheers.

Altrincham FC First Team / Speaking of Dodgy Defenders!
« on: August 30, 2011, 11:59:27 AM »
I have it from the horse's mouth that everyone's favorite former Alty player, Marc Joseph, is jetting off to the Caribbean to represent his country, Antigua & Barbuda!

How do we fancy their chances of winning the 2014 world cup then?

Matthew Fearon - defender (d.o.b. 7 September, 1993)
Joe Coombs - defender (d.o.b. 12 January, 1994)

Bit disappointed not to see Smart but have been impressed with Fearon and Coombs.

Altrincham FC First Team / A Small Issue
« on: August 03, 2011, 11:25:17 AM »
Last night when I went to the snack bar I was shocked to find that cans of coke were a pound each. I don't know who does the prices in there, most are fine (pies £2, although I am assuming other things have been increased? How much are crisps, chocolate bars etc?) and I know there's been a VAT increase but this seems like the sort of pricing you would find in a premier league ground. I really don't see it as necessary to charge that much and it will put people off buying. I take my younger cousin along sometimes and often buy him cans etc from the snack bar but I won't be doing so at those prices.

I'm not having a pop at those who run the snack bar as you do a very good and I appreciate it but I hope someone has a look at the prices and realize that they\re not appropriate.

Altrincham FC First Team / Message From a Leigh Fan
« on: July 23, 2011, 09:50:39 PM »
On conf north forum-"Do us a favour lads and stick a message on your forum to congratulate everyone on the turnout for today and to pass on our best wishes to Mark from the lads at Leigh. Was great to get a quick chat with Maddo before the game and a wonderful ovation for him when he was substituted. Big respect to those at Alty for arranging it. I know Mark is one of the most humble blokes you'll ever meet but I'm sure today meant the world to him. Might well pop along to Moss Lane again during the season now that we've obviously nowt to do with the demise of our own club. All the best."

Apparently this is the ball going to be used next season. It looks pretty cool :)

JD, over to you.
