Altrincham FC First Team / Re: How many would Alty take?

Maybe any final - regardless of its location, should be capped at the normal gate price of the 2 clubs playing. If the league/FA then want to use a ground thats over capacity by 10 times attendance then they foot the bill for the infrastructure.

We couldn't drink on the terraces last time we were up.

We were led to believe that was an assumption and we'd never checked with the council.

I think it would depend on the opposition but probably be okay for quite a few if segregated

I don't think the council have any jurisdiction over this one - its enshrined in law from what I understand and specifically includes the conference National league.

https://sgsa.org.uk/regulation/alcohol-what-are-the-rules/

"The Sporting Events (Control of Alcohol etc.) Act 1985 prevents:-
the consumption of alcohol within view of the playing area including, during the restricted period
The Act applies to the following sporting events:-
Association football matches in which one or both of the participating teams represents a club which is for the time being a member (whether a full or associate member) of the Football League, the Football Association Premier League, the Football Conference National Division, "

 http://www.thefa.com/-/media/files/thefaportal/governance-docs/stadium-safety/stadium-safety-in-the-national-league-system---updated.ashx

"All of the above offences apply to any match where one of the two teams is from the Premier League, the Football League or the Conference Premier Division only – this Act does not apply if the teams are in the Conference North or in the Conference South – and it also applies to any game in the FA Cup from the First Round onwards. For clubs playing below the Conference Premier Division this Act does not apply, unless those teams are lucky enough to be playing in the FA Cup First Round or later."

It also explains from the FA Trophy rules the reason why we couldnt drink for the FAT game but we could specifically in the lower rounds of the FA Cup !

"Glasses, Glass bottles or cans containing alcohol are not permitted outside of the
Clubhouse and must not be brought into grounds. No alcohol is to be consumed in
the ground or premises during the period of any match, except as may be governed
by the terms of the club licence with regard to its own members, but, not withstanding
such, no alcohol is to be taken or consumed outside the licensed clubhouse or any
other authorised area during such match period or brought into the ground. "

We need a thorough explanation of how, when and why we use these covers because at the moment they’re coming across like a waste of time and donated money. I may be wrong, but forgive me for thinking they should have been used overnight - what else did we get them for if not?

Frost

They're on the wrong side of the pitch then for frost - its in front of the main stand that has no sun on it that gets the last of the frost.

" Positioned pitchside the roller/covers are inflated and rolled out onto the pitch to protect from the rain and snow."

I agree - I'm getting quite frustrated about them.

I've always thought the pith at Edgeley Park is quite a bit bigger than ours

104x64m  (all subject to my measuring tolerance on google maps ! )

just watched mark bower's post match interview on youtube. he refers to altrincham's big pitch when talking about how we like to move it around. is it really that much bigger than amyone else's?

From a 2010 ground grading report done :-

The playing area measures at 68.6m x 103m which is within the required standard.

http://www.altrinchamfc.co.uk/groundgrading.htm

A rudimentary measure using google maps puts their pitch at 100m x 63.8m

It's the long awaited return of Altrincham legends Anthony Griffith and Billy Hasler-Cregg, too.

Is that the guy who ripped us off and could never play football again !

Should make a few quid out of gate receipt split??

After County take their expenses out for running the game which is probably massive !

I'm finding this embargo on releasing footage a bit frustrating.

Last season the way Mark was getting goals online pretty much the same day helped to continue the buzz from the game, and the full highlights followed within the next 24 hours really kept the interest.

Now, I can barely recall who we played last!

Would the embargo still apply if we had a private members only subscription video service ?
