Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Club Shop
« on: May 14, 2020, 04:01:25 PM »
One of the projects we have kicked off in recent weeks is an overhaul of our e-commerce offering, the online shop.  For example youcan now buy membership of the Patrons for the 2020-21 season from the shop.

See here:

https://altrinchamfconlineshop.co.uk/shop?olsPage=t%2Fseason-tickets-and-patrons

Over the coming couple of months we will be making a significant overhaul of the site and the products available.  Remember, of course, there is limited or no availability on some items currently due to factory closures due to the lockdown

Cheers Bill - It reminded me and I've just very nearly pressed buy on the Patron membership !

A minor point - it just needs the description updating to be season 2020-21 - and if youre in the area allotted has 2 t's  :)

Incidentally, is there any food available tonight for purchase?

I dont think anything specific is planned Steve, but if youre there early enough before the meeting and speak to Richie or me, then we could easily sort out a burger, possibly chips.

Would love to see a new acoustic roof on the gold road and pop side middle roof extending full length possible seating in the center with keeping terracing in each corner ?, if a roof goes on the away end segregate it half way that would be excellent for atmosphere.

Went to Stockport to see the Blossoms concert this last year amazing set up and must of made a fortune,  also alty ice rink hosting very good boxing events, could Alty host events in the summer to?

I've put two event organisers in touch with the club over the past two seasons, both wanted to use the pitch over the summer. Not sure as to why nothing came of either...

The pitch refurb puts a dampner on a lot of summer possibilities - ripped up in mid May and reseeded, which then means it cant be used for as long as possible to give the grass the best chance of rooting and thickening out. At the start of this season it still looked a bit thin.

I've pondered whether it should be re-turfed at greater cost, but faster recovery time ie leave it much later, to be able to use the pitch for longer for other events if they'll make more money that offsets the higher cost of turfing.

I’m surprised at the mention of replacement turnstiles ? All 3 in use blocks are relatively new build, the gates function and the tickets allow a tally of money taken.

I can understand the need to have more of them open and staffed for the peak rush.

An upgrade to electronic turnstiles is also covered by grants from I think the football foundation on promotion into the football league as part of mandatory ground change on promotion so effectively free as I understand.

I doubt you'd get cover the away end now the flats have been built.

I think with the right scheme the residents would support covering the terrace - surely better to look out onto a roof, maybe a living roof with sedum matting than the open air concrete thats there now. I imagine on a match day they can hear all sorts of language from the terrace sat in their gardens.

Whenever this is being sold from, get this hammered on Twitter and social media!

This forum is the only place I've seen this, so will not be seen by anyone except hardcore Alty fans.

Let's blow our own trumpet a little more on stuff like this!

Yes - it was lined up for other avenues - but thankfully we hadnt published anything else before we found the "pies suitable for vegans" had not been delivered!

37
Unfortunately the vegan pies haven’t been delivered !

We’ll still aim to trial them for sat 25th game.

Apologies for the false start.

38
The pies haven’t been delivered for today - we will try again on sat 25th jan.

To join in the veganuary activities the catering team at Altrincham FC have launched a January trial of 3 vegan pies from our matchday pie supplier Wrights Pies.

With some exciting new flavours we're sure they'll appeal to all customers whether vegan or not and could be a great addition to the matchday menu.

  • Red Thai slice - made with puff pastry and packed with butternut squash, green beans, carrots and onions
  • Moroccan-style tomato and chickpea pie - which combines sweet potato, cumin seed, coriander, onion and apricot
  • Spicy potato and cauliflower pie - a combination of aloo gobi, garam masala and cumin

Available while stocks last in the Sports Hall and Dawns Kiosk - priced at £2 for the Red Thai Slice and £3 for the Pies.

Not sure if anyone else bought a program? I did, some interesting pages on Alty, stats on players with goals scored etc. Histrionics of different years the club wen through with success etc. Good value at £2.50 Good little read.
I bought one and got a pleasant surprise when he said £2.50 instead of £3.00.A very nice tough having free pizza at halftime as well.A big thanks to Portsmouth for all they did for us.

And cups of tea were only £1 !!  (UHT milk though)

Thank you to the Pompey fans who came on here prior to the game. Came across as a very friendly set, and that was proven in and around the ground.

I particularly enjoyed the comment about Southampton fans 'caring for their ponies'... Macc care for their sheep in much the same way.

Gutted by the last minute but the team and club are so much stronger now than in 2015.

Very proud of Altrincham FC.

(will back Pompey when they're playing Southampton now).

I agree - a really decent bunch - one Pompey fan ran out of McDonald’s before the game to say welcome and hope you enjoy the game to us.

They’re a bit quiet in the ground though eh 🤫

Glad it’s not just me   :D

I thought about buying an advent calendar, and opening everything but the last 5 days as we countdown to Saturday.

4 more sleeps to go, 4 more sleeps till Portsmouth......

even the 5:15 show had 3 clips - them hitting the bar, the pen and our goal.  Chat was all about York

Absolute rubbish from the BBC - I was prepared to accept minimalism while the game was live, but the later show was a disgrace. We've just punched above our weight, and ended a 19 match unbeaten run by an unarguably bigger club, yet more coverage is given to Gateshead and Chippenham who produced lesser results.

I now have a dilemma - I've missed all three away games in this cup run. If we're on our travels again in Round 2, do I stay away again on superstitious grounds ? Home draw please - Chichester or Kingstonian please !

To be fair to the BBC, they're not exactly on the same level as Alty TV ;).
Seriously though, and from a journalistic angle, their early round coverage is all about giant killing - non-league team beats league team - so an all National League North tie is lower in their agenda. A good draw next round and they'll be all over us. At the end of the day they gave us £12K+(https://www.altrinchamfc.com/news/york-city-v-altrincham-selected-for-bbc-emirates-f-a-cup-live-highlights-programme) for that so that's about £4K a clip!!
t

At 4K a clip - have you priced up your match coverage mark 😂

6 of us getting the train up.

People should make the effort.

FA Cup 1st round doesn't come around that often.

Just hoping we don't play defensive and drive at them.

me and 3 others in the car - whats parking like round there - looking at Google maps I was assuming north of the ground on street parking is plentiful ?
