There are 3 huts to be fair, though I'm not sure that the old tea bar will be incorporated. We could do with some decent toilets there too.

There are 2 huts - fact. The old tea bar is outside of the fan zone and is a stewards control room.

Is it the grand opening today ?

Has Nelson got his eye back yet? It must be getting close

Cant be far off. They've built a wooden patio and got 3 finished huts.

3 ? Only 2 huts in there jack.

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: PA
« on: August 01, 2022, 11:54:56 AM »
Anybody know if the club have plans to upgrade the PA. Not good at times today and the same v Stockport, alot of static

Thanks for the feedback (no pun intended).  I had a look on Sunday and there is some noise when spotify isnt playing - as its connected to a laptop and audio is still available, hence why the occasional system bing comes out.

We replaced the old radio mic that broke with a new radio mic, there is a chance thats causing it, I'd never noticed it previously. I will do some more testing and try to find a solution.

Volume is hard to gauge from the press box - the number of people and background noise affects the perception of how loud the PA is, its easy to adjust based on the main stand but impossible to know how relative the volume is in say the pop side.

In terms of upgrade - what are people looking for - we have industry standard TOA CS-304 speakers throughout the ground, as many as I could accommodate on the amps supplying various areas without having to run a new cable from the press box to the golf/pop corner. We have 3 amps linked together. A playlist supplied from a fan for matchday.

Stuart

If anyone has any spare time this Saturday then help would be appreciated at the club between 10-3 to get the ground cleaned up ahead of the opening game vs Stockport the following Saturday.

And I think unaccompanied kids is restricted to just Under 12's which isnt unreasonable.

TBH the chips in the clubhouse are Ok but not a patch on the chips over the road! Up until a year or two ago we could bring them in but not now (unless you sneak em in) ha, SBL

I'd be very surprised if "The Good Catch - Award winning fish and chip shop" didnt have better chips than a football club!

I used to sit 2 rows in front of him and have a few memories - the sickness one was quite vivid - it was either boxing day or New Years Day i'm sure.

As well as the comments shouted, which always amused my kids,  I recall Nicky Clee coming and sitting in the stand at some point and John quizzing him about whats on the clipboard that the manager is showing the player before subbing them - "What are they reading - the bloody menu !"

He always bought a hot dog too - thats 1 less I'll sell next season (hopefully no connection to the sickness incident years ago!)

RIP John

I have that problem in the main stand. The best row is the one behind the directors boxes, but people keep using it as a walk-through.

Thats because it is a walkthrough - the only way to get from 1 side to the other !

Are there any more pics available yet? SBL

I saw it this morning and there is nothing much new to see, just more soil been planed off deeper than usual so it still looks like a beach.
