I got hooked back in to watching Alty in the 90s because I could easily go to away games at Macc, Runcorn, Stalybridge and Northwich. I think Witton had only just been relegated the season before, but later I would be able to go there and Hyde. So lots of football to watch without a lot a travelling. I've got to admit it's not quite as appealing to me now. Telford and Kidderminster were probably the limit of my travelling in recent years.

Would there not be room for some of the best part-time players to stay on ie. the ones who have good careers outside football who don't want to break in to that.

Too many people leant on it and it collapsed.

Thank you. I will have to find a way of letting her know she is probably wrong about remembering it without making it sound like I am saying she is wrong. You know how these things go I'm sure.

Could one of the club historians please let me know what year the football club first installed floodlights?

My wife remembers the debate amongst local residents about the possible intrusion, so thinks it must be 1970s.

I think it was probably 1960s, but really have no idea..

Duncan Watmore scored one his proper old-style Alty goals for Middlesbrough today.

What about cold food like scampi fries and pork pies

In the wrong hands a pork pie can be quite a dangerous weapon.

Quite a list of prohibited items posted up by the turnstiles now. Seems sad that unaccompanied kids can't go now. I'm sure many of us started going to Alty just turning up with mates. No prams or buggies, so that limits the young families coming. And no sticks. Does that include walking sticks like the one I'm finding myself using more and more these days?

He never looks ready to me. And that's not me being unfair. I've been saying that since he joined the club.

Maybe have a zip wire where trays of hot fish and chips can be conveyed into the football ground.

Altrincham FC First Team / Weymouth tickets
« on: March 06, 2022, 06:19:26 PM »
Planning to come to my first game since Dover this coming Tuesday so went on the club site just now to book. Bit confused by what I read. Seems at odds with the information put out the other day. Is is just that the page needs updating? This is what it says.

"2021/22 Match Day Tickets
Ahead of the new season and until we are informed of anything different, individual match day tickets will be available, but at the moment we are assuming that these will need to be purchased in advance and will take the form of e-tickets.

As we do not yet know the capacity, nor the regulations that will apply to Step 1, we do not know if fans will still be able to pay on the gate.

Information will be shared as and when the government and relevant footballing governing bodies update their stance over the summer. However, season ticket holders will be given priority if capacity is limited."
