Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Wrexham
« on: April 18, 2022, 09:44:41 PM »

My daughter bought four tickets for the game from Alty which we printed off, the Wrexham stewards seamed clueless when we pointed out that the tickets were without seat number ?? only the good natured Alty following enabled us to find a seat.

Surprised you were allowed in with self-printed tickets. At Wrexham’s insistence everyone was supposed to have paper tickets which were to be collected from the club. I guess that the fact we allowed them to be paid for online confused matters.

Can’t beat that for goals conceded, but on a more positive note, didn’t he who we’d rather not mention score for us after 17 seconds vs Mansfield at Moss Lane in a 1-0 win?

Did Conn-Clarke start at No10? I thought he was more of a winger...
Yes, but he moved to the right when Dan Mooney went off.
Decent debut for him too.

It's hard to tell which posts from you make you look more delusional.

Be nice if you could actually contribute to the discussion sometimes.

I mentioned an unsettled team. The first Torquay goal would appear to be a case in point - new player Osborne and new player Berkoe both apparently pointing the finger, in one case while the ball was still in play. Would this sort of thing happen if we had a settled team?

It would also be interesting to hear from management about Digie. Presumably they know more about it than any of us, and they must have their reasons for playing him. What is their thinking?

And just out of interest, perhaps AA (or anyone else) would like to tell me if Digie made any other mistakes after the second goal, or if it was just the one mistake in 40 minutes of football, and also say what else he did. Very difficult for me to prove anything from just brief highlights and my memories (maybe I should make notes next time if people are going to be so fussy).
Rather than being nice to hear from the management about individual players it would be incredibly unprofessional of them to do so.

Let's hope we have a good few sessions this week and improved performance at Solihull.
Hearing that Tom's out for a couple of weeks doesn't fill me with confidence for Solihull. I'm still going, but in hope rather than expectation.

Looked decent enough during his 10 minute appearance.

Allegedly. If this is true, it raises a number of questions, but first and foremost, is there any clarification yet of whether this will affect us at all?

And have we made our plans for the Wrexham and Stockport games yet? At the moment, I am assuming that, one way or another, there will be hoops to jump through to attend, and therefore, as things stand, I do not intend to try. Hopefully things will be more or less back to normal after that, though I am not banking on it by any means.
Regarding Carlisle’s capacity cut, I think we can safely say that this won’t affect us.

To be honest, I was absolutely frozen the other week V Southend. Even though I wrapped up warm, the cold weather that day still got through and buggered up my immune system. I  finished up with a very heavy cold afterwards, which after 9 days has only recently left me. Definitely brass monkey weather!
Likewise re. Southend, although I was coming down with Covid at the time just to compound the misery.

Previous coldest I recall was an away game at Macc in the early 90s. Bob Lord / Drinkwise Trophy or similar, sure we equalised very late on to bring about a very unwelcome period of extra time.

Very patronising statement too. I’m not 5 so don’t need to be told not to stand in the road
So let's assume you turn up at your appointed turnstile tomorrow and there's a queue of 50 people snaking out into Golf Road (that's the only place where people queue in the road). What's your solution?

This fixture should have been switched.
Can see the sentiment, but I doubt that Southend would have agreed to at such short notice as it wouldn't have given them time to get their commercial side lined up. And that's assuming the league would have allowed it.

For anyone trying to book parking, they've taken that offline for some reason so you have to phone their ticket office and pay that way.

Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Southend game tickets and attendance ?
« on: November 23, 2021, 01:01:20 PM »

Absolutely. The capacity of the chequers end was somewhat more than 600 for the Gateshead game! It’s getting impossible to second guess the configuration of the stadium for the next fixture. Are the Southend seats in the inappropriately named family stand or the main stand. Do Trafford Council intend enforcing any particular dress code for the game? We’re jumping through hoops here and it’s getting tiresome.

No-one can disagree that it's all tiresome, but if the capacity and configuration of stands was under the sole control of the club then the information would have been forthcoming. If you read Bill's recent update after the Gateshead game then surely you realise (a) that's not the case and (b) things can change quickly.
If the club made repeated posts and corrections when the council changed their mind then I'm sure there'd be an equal number of complaints about inaccurate information.
I have a season ticket and expect to be in the ground on Saturday, but at this stage I don't know whereabouts. I am sure that the club will be taking steps to optimise things for home supporters.

Hannigan has been an absolute colossus this season so far; a terrible night to have an off game but it is what it is.

As for players leaping into the stands, this is the one thing I can't look past now I've calmed down. If it's not for the stewards to do, then fair enough, but someone should have been in there.
Would have capped off our week nicely if a player had pulled a muscle climbing the fence.

Agree with that. The Chequers end plus a small number of seats gives them just over 1000 tickets-plus it’ll be on TV so could be a silly KO time so they’ll be fine with that. Recall seeing them play City at the Etihad on the opening day about 15 years ago and they only brought about 800, don’t think they have a historically large away support.

More of a concern (IF we get through a hard replay) is number of tickets for home support. We had 3700 in on a Tuesday night for Solihull and the home parts of the ground felt very full. Demand sure to be high. Still that’s a nice headache to put off until after next Tuesday.

When are you going to change your forum name btw?
'Sarf London' Alty has a certain ring to it.

Gateshead is a horrible place to play a good game, every time the ball goes out it's 30/40 seconds to get the ball back. Why weren't there balls dotted about the touchline? It all makes it harder to build pressure etc.

Come on Alty.
Agreed, couldn't watch football there every week. Reminded me of the game at BPA in 2004/5?when Heathcote sent the unused subs out to act as ball boys.
