Altrincham FC First Team / Re: There is no way we will go down...
« on: April 27, 2008, 09:48:02 AM »
Dont get me wrong Mark i will be overjoyed if we stay up; but is any one else not getting bored of staying up through default.

I want us to compete on the field as well next season and show other teams what we are really capable of.

You guys deserved to go down with us (Farsley) because of what's happened over the past few seasons. You've got a commendably passionate forum occupied by a large set of commendably passionate fans, but for you guys to survive this season would have been highly unjust. You may still do survive if somebody goes bust, but I hope that doesn't happen.

They should change the rules so teams can't stay up on a technicality two seasons running. There's a chance you guys might stay up having been relegated three times where as Droylsden, Stafford, and Farsley go down having been relegated only once.

Why is it unjust to survive due to having a strong buisness plan ethic alongside running a family orientated club?

If you are in retail and you dont make enough money to cover the rent, wages and power etc your buisness closes its as simple as that.

Clubs who do not run there finances correctly should be closed. The rule of a 10 point deduction is fundementaly flawed. In my eyes it should be automatic relegation at the very least.

PS I am devestated that we have been relegated. Long live the Alty.

On a serious note though you are spot on with this comment;

I also read this and it confirmed my suspicions on what this bizarre 'post' on the official is all about. making excuses for our relegation before we've even had chance to avoid it.

Firstly, well done to everyone yesterday.Things looked really dire at half-time but they turned it round second half.I would suggest that we start with Colin and Ryan ,a great 2 goals from him,up front for the last 2 games, as a bit of height up front really does make a difference if we continue to lump high balls forward.We have Chris Lane to cover at right back, a more than reliable defender.We really have to go for it in the last 2 games.

Your most constructive and best post ever V of D i agree completley
