No the worst striker we've ever had and not the best either. Onto a new chapter now.

What a legend and character on and off the pitch.
So many great memories some that spring to mind have to be his incredible post match interviews, coming over to the GRE when it was kicking off asking us if we were ok and the one that lives long in the memory was a fans meeting where one inquiring fan asked the main man if there was to much swearing on and off the pitch ... To which John answers... What a stupid fxxxing question ....

« on: February 05, 2023, 10:33:36 PM »completely agree with this . He will (when he has just a couple more seconds to think and a bit more space) be much more succesful. At this level for us he sadly had very little composure.As said before on my earlier posts......not good enough at NL level but a decent NLN or NLS player.....far from being up there with some of the recent hopeless number nines we have had.Not odd at all. He couldn't do the basic things required by a footballer. Never tackled anyone, never beat anyone, never won a header (it's debatable if he ever actually jumped for one), and couldn't hit a barn door.Taking personal feelings out of it 10 goals in 33 isn't that bad a ratio is it?
Firstly, it's ten from nearer fifty if you count sub appearances.
Secondly, how many were tap ins?
Thirdly, how many glaring misses has he had?
Fourthly, chances to goals scored ratio probably 6 or 7 to 1 when it needs to be, at the outside, 3 or 4 to 1.
As has been said elsewhere, not NL quality sadly however nice a lad and however hard he tried.
Couldn’t care less how many were tap ins!!
It’s not quite worked out but whether it’s a lockdown/bcd thing or not I don’t know but Marcus Dinanga is comfortably better than at least half a dozen of the strikers who preceded him in the season before.
To talk of him as on a par with the all time great Alty duffers is really odd to be honest?
He's right up.there with the worst.
You never know, he may click at Gateshead and do a job for them

« on: January 30, 2023, 10:31:28 PM »On their day, Wrexham are a class apart from any other team in this league and so I think the best we can hope for is not to ship 4 or 5 without reply. That said, Wrexham will be tired from their dealings in the FA Cup, so we should not write ourselves out of it yet. On the subject of gaining maximum revenue from the away section, I think the Club will be mindful that not giving sufficient space to those that are travelling will increase the likelihood of them ending up in the home section. While I can see why you wouldn't want to give them any advantage, I think the opportunity to increase the coffers when funds are sorely needed, has to be taken.are we struggling for money ? After all the recent money raised and sale of Coco and probably Toby I would have thought we were in a very healthy position for money .

We are simply haemorrhaging quality players.
CCC reportedly heading back to Fleetwood and now rumours persist that we have may have seen the last of Mullarkey in an Alty shirt.
Meanwhile, we are lumbered with a powder-puff forward line and a goalkeeper who appears unable to command his area every time that we defend a corner.
Not exactly a formula for progression.
Wrexham loom on the horizon and then the Bracknell FA Trophy tie becomes pivotal in keeping our season alive.
I confess that I am rather perplexed by the club's strategy at present.
