Its as simple as that realy. Second half they rarely threatend, they were at times hanging on by the skin of there teeth.

A fantastic goal by Colin and a fantastic team effort, thanks Alty for playing your hearts out again....

9th place and fully deserved the sky is the limit if we keep playing like this

Elam looked great again tonight very hungry for it with Coburn making some fantastic saves.

The whole team worked so hard it was a 110% effort game.

Thanks lads cheered me right up

I thought they were excellent today. An amazing turnout. The biggest away crowd i can remember for a long time.There were even in our end buying food from the snack bar.

Bit quieter vocally than i had expected; hope you all had a good day out- see you at your place for the return fixture

As far as we were concerned much improved it almost blotted out the horror show that was kiddy away.

Ill be honest a few weeks into the close season in my head we were all set for a 4th succesive relegation( if Halifax handed us a reprieve that is )- However after seeing us in pre season i am actually starting to hold out hope of us avoiding relegation on our own merit- how amazing would that be??

Dont get me wrong im generally a very positive person but 3 seasons of "relegation" prepares you for the worst.

I am really pleased with the new additions- and if they play to there potential as a team we are looking good.

I cant personally remember such a good series of pre season results for a long time??

Lets hope this continues into the "real" football.

What are every one else's feelings- for me its the same as last season any thing above 4th bottom is a result.

This morning at 2.11am Tegan Thorley was born weighing in at 6 pounds and 9 ounces (heavier than me

)

Both are doing well - No toes shouts if you please

Altrincham FC First Team / Most embarrasing moment?

During the football lull i thought i would ask what your most embarrasing moment was at a football game?

For me it would be running onto the pitch at Southport a number of years back to congratulate the lads on a last minute 2-1 win.

Whilst slowing down to congratulate the lads i was flattened by an overweight steward and had to be carried back to the hoardings by the players, covered head to toe in mud on the coach.

Ahh they were the days bottle of diamond white before the game
