Altrincham FC First Team / Re: Today

Having a go at our own players does no good whatsoever. My opinion is that none of our players are here for the money and I don't see any non-tryers out there. If occasionally a player has a bad game, or if he is not up to Conf standard then the manager will deal with it.

Continually yelling at Bushell, "we are in red" was embarrassing; so we moved over to stand at the 'gap' in the crowd that usually surrounds Dennis, where the abuse is more traditionally directed towards the opposition full backs, wingers and linesman.
Therefore we missed the return from Bushell, who (I have heard) should use more appropriate language next time

Altrincham FC First Team / The light is here

A drop into the dreaded zone and doom and gloom inevitably begins to set-in.

Yes it's gonna be very hard to stay up this season, but the last thing I would want the managment to do is hit the panic button. Right now we must continue to play the improved football we are playing and see what happens. Maybe bring a few new faces in after New Year, if we are still in the bottom 4 approaching the end of March, then things may have to change.

Look at Stockport last season - dead and buried, not a hope of staying up............then Oxford and Rushden went down.

A few good results makes a world of difference. If we had beaten Woking and Crawley at home, drew with 10 man Morecambe and not 'gifted' the excellent Clare two goals (all realistic outcomes) then where would we be now...............singing show the the way to Stoke City.

The light is here already, and after 21 Dec it gets lighter every day !

Recent Good decisions (although not incorrect) : Ref abandoning the game against Stafford on New Years day - looked stale on the day and think we would have lost the game. We went on to win the re-arranged game and made the play-offs. Also twice the gate income !

Ref injured vs Cambridge last season. Replacement gave us a lot

Worst recent decisions (added to the others) : Colin Little sent off for headbutting Runcorn's Barry Jones
