Altrincham FC First Team / Re: ground safety work
« on: November 27, 2021, 06:40:09 PM »
It was toxic in there today. Security & stewards from all over the North West, who were rude and chaotic in their manner. No interest at all in the club.
I was moved 4 times in the first half and wasn't blocking any exit or at the front.
It is so sad and this has all come from a letter within the club. The coward should have the bottle to identify themselves. This is killing us. I am not going back until we are allowed over 3k because I am that angry/upset about it all.
That game should have been switched and any others should until this shower of sh*t passes.
The terraces look as if they have had some pointing work done and that's it.
I was told the security is costing us thousands. Really upsetting.

Going forward the club should advertise for there own stewards and SIA staff now they are paying people. probably to short notice before. The good thing about using outside agencies is if you need more they can supply them at short notice, But i do think the club should have their own core of trained stewards and SIA licensed staff.

As per the safety procedures when i was Safety officer i had to update them and rewrite a lot took me most of the summer.

One other gripe: why on earth wasn't a steward posted to patrol the Popular Side last night in order to deal with incidents when the ball went onto the terraces?

Watching our players clamber over the perimeter fencing to retrieve the ball was embarrassing. Amateurish stuff.

Amidst all the post-match ire, despair and angst, I confess there is a part of me that is somewhat relieved that our current mortifying shortcomings off the pitch won't now be exposed live on national TV on 3rd December.

Why climb the fence isn't there gates every few feet on the new fence that was put in.

Stewards retrieving balls from what i hear they needed to be showing TBC they could do their job dealing with the crowd.

The club were very welcoming to all our Veterans and Volunteers on Saturday, I know it was a busy day with the council in meaning a lot of staff were pre occupied but still had time to make sure we were ok.
The first time i think i have heard the Last Post played in the ground and a Honour to take the salute.
Once again thank you to all that donated.

Often the 2 mins silence is started and ended by the bugle, it was the blowing of the refs whistle after the bugle to announce the start of the min that caused the issue, this is unusual, should have been refs whistle, bugle, silence, bugle, whistle.
The Bugler was organised by me very hard to get this time of year , All were briefed on what was to happen all well to the crowd started applauding thinking everything was over,
We were meant to lead the teams out but the ref came out on to the pitch like a bullet so thought stay where we are,
Trafford Veterans CIC raised a fantastic £527.87 Thnk you to all that donated.

When we had pitch invaders at one of the first Stockport games after their relagations and police were present at the game, They just took names and address to pass on to their Safety officer and club to deal with.
