Has been in place for a number of years now - even last season we were allowed to stream live but not upload footage after that until Sunday night. This is to ensure they can maximise views on their own, somewhat minimalist, highlights package which is released on Sunday morning and appear on each club's website.

Am I correct in assuming the pitch replacement has now been completed.


Are there anymore updates, time lapse photography, or responses to look forward to.

Part two of the time-lapse video will be available in a couple of weeks time. The contractors seeded the pitch over the weekend but have a few bits and pieces to finish off around the pitch. As far as the video is concerned, just waiting for the first shoots to appear - watching grass grow in time-lapse should be a fitting conclusion to the film!

One question, does all the excess water flow down to that drain by the pop / chequers end corner?

As far as I could tell, the equipment which lays the pipe (I’m sure it has a name) is linked with a theodolite in the main stand. The drains and are then laid to falls in 2 directions, the main drain from Golf Road down to deepest at Chequers and from highest at the main stand side to the Popular side. In effect it’s on a sloping plane from the corner at the Golf Road snack bar down to the lowest part at the corner of the pop and chequers end.

We're currently filming a time-lapse of the whole ground works supported with some close-ups. Hope to release the first part over the weekend.

i heard that we need a new pitch. i didn't hear anything about how the inherent drainage problem might be resolved.

I think by the term 'pitch' they meant the whole system including drainage and not just the playing surface.
