It was in front of the Golf Rd and there were about 100 SC**thorpe fans on the terrace too although they were rather quiet. Wasn’t segregated or if it was not properly.

So who is filming this? To me they are party to the matter.

Sounds rather bizarre. How does a supporter presumably behind the pitch barrier manage to access a keepers bottle never mind manage to pi55 in it?

I started watching games aged 9 with my dad, who I’m sure loved the chance to get out of the house with me and get brownie points. Although I was getting interested in football back then, mainly due to Bazooka gum cards, watching for 90 minutes was just too much for my young concentration span, after all the complexities of the game are beyond young minds, it’s all about goals and noise. Give them some slack, safety obviously matters as does parental responsibility but allow the parents some slack too.

I went to Colliers Wood United v Sheerwater in the Combined Counties League Premier today. I have watched many games in 51 years since my first Alty match in 1971 but until today I had never seen a senior game where the score line hit double figures. 10-0 to CWU. Something clearly wrong at Sheerwater as their manager resigned last night and they had just one sub on the bench today who bizarrely didn’t get on.

Coalville a possibility too? Think it’s further north than Hereford.

Why is Mee back in goal?

Some years ago at Aldershot I think it was Richard Acton in goal, every time we got a goal kick he moved it to the other corner of the box. Drove the home support mad!

Last season Woking and Bromley were £20, Halifax might have even been £21. A quick search shows SC**thorpe are charging £22 early bird and £25 on the day. Unfortunately it is what it costs at this level where admission is not subsidised by TV. The club need to cover costs I don’t think it’s too bad for this level.
Harold I think it might be £15 for pensioners.

After being told everyday the countdown to the pre season etc, I find it strange that the website has no news of todays games or teams etc.

If it wasn’t for the folk on the forum no information would be forthcoming on todays fixtures.

Pre season rant over.

A report on both games on the Alty Files site.

I would say though that it would be worth making a recording of the ever informative (apart from on a few of those trialists!) Radio Robins commentary available online, if indeed this hasn't already been done.

Speaking of trialists, the West supporters had a song for one of their trialists (there was singing at all three NWCL friendlies I've seen this preseason) - and a song about celery!

How do access these Alty files then
. Use a link or just Google,it’s a website. John Laidlars old one.

I don’t think yellow shorts would look right, I’d go with the dark blue.

It was the Isthmian league sometime in the mid 90s, I saw a couple of games. It was a farce, teams played for the line and on getting a kick in, they had to tell the referee of the intention. The game then stopped while everyone piled into the box. Terrible idea.

Fred Eyre, in his book Kicked into Touch, mentions Tony Broadhead as an Oswestry player. Tony apparently said to him “We get stuck in here”.
That was certainly an apt description of his playing style as I recall it.

Dorking is a very appealing town with lots of decent pubs too. So much nicer than Ebbsfleet.
