Altrincham FC First Team / Vics latest signing

Dean Lodge from Kingstonian.

According to Kingstonian supporters he's gone for a "substantial package" which apparently includes accommodation. Hmmmm.

Altrincham FC First Team / Divisive Threads
« on: September 15, 2008, 10:09:26 PM »
A lot of this stuff on here serves no purpose at all apart from causing division. There will always be pro and anti people in any situation however all this infighting crap serves no one but our opponents. Geoff Goodwin runs the club, he will or should decide what happens.

For me GH has listened and brought in a good selection of signings. Stevenage are much better than Alty and we were never going to win there against a side who have dropped points and are determined to prove a point and get on track. We did badly against Barrow and Salisbury, hopefully we should beat Lewes; not if this negative sh*t continues though.

If you read Stevenage's board you will see GH gets a pretty good reception. I guess due to his reputation a selection of fans attempted to wind him up whereas he seems to have responded with humour. Those of ours slagging him may understandably not realised this, but it seems he wasn't engaged in a petulant row........as for his opinion of female officials, well no comment.

Altrincham FC First Team / Question for the older fans.....
« on: May 25, 2008, 12:14:28 AM »
Not sure if I've been dreaming but I have a memory of a home game many moons back possibly in the NPL days, when a full coach load of Sunderland fans turned up and stood in the Golf Rd supporting us. I assume because of a postponement at City or Utd? Am I right or do I need therapy?

The Gazelle, JiminLondon, maybe Redhill Alty plus others will have been there.

Altrincham FC First Team / If You could Change One Result.......
« on: March 25, 2008, 07:59:12 PM »
this season what would it be. Just a bit of (wishful thinking) fun. Rules are you can only step up one level, ie a defeat changes to a draw or a draw to a win.

Will it be Vics at home, one point gained but one off them, Farsley home or away converted to a win, or perhaps one of the draws with Halifax? Perhaps not blowing that lead at Salisbury and keeping confidence then?

Altrincham FC First Team / Why our level is good.
« on: September 27, 2007, 12:44:05 AM »
Just back from Fulham v Bolton tonight, my boys team I must add. Reasonably priced I must say, £15 for me and a fiver for him.

The crappy bits though.....firstly an 8pm KO, why, there were only about 10,000 there, secondly, on arrival we went to a food outlet, ordered a choc bar, a packet of crisps, a beer and a coke. We couldn't be sold the drinks as it was within 15 mins of kick off! WHY?

We then took our seats, loads of room  to sit anyware, yet it was still necessary for people to turn up even 30 mins after kick off and repeatedly get us to stand up while they file past. Do these tw@ts go to the pictures and get there half a fckn hour late!?

And, the game was utterly pants. Plus crisps and a Yorkie, without the drinks still cost £2.35!

Thats "friendly Fulham" what OT etc are like I shudder to think. Give me non league.

Roscoe's dream comes true

From AFCW website

AFC Wimbledon have announced that striker Roscoe Dsane has signed a 12 month full-time contract with Accrington Stanley.

The club would like to thank Roscoe for all his efforts and wish him every success in his return to full-time football.

Roscoe was named Junior Dons' Player of the Year last season and bagged 21 goals in 46 appearances.

Check the features section later this week to read Terry Brown's thoughts on this latest development to his squad and the imminent return to training

Former Aldershot striker, was always injured. Strange signing in my book. Big jump from Ryman prem to league 2!

Non Altrincham FC Talk / England game
« on: June 01, 2007, 09:19:21 PM »
Anyone watching? Look at the empty seats in the "corporate area" prime seats on the halfway line. Lots of clearly block booked areas and all the area empty at half time till now! The FA are really losing it as far as the ordinary fan is concerned.Up front moneyis not the be all and end all, the game needs supporters new and old.

I used to smoke 20-25 a day and had tried to stop several times. I managed it after my second child was born some 10 years ago. Basically I succeeded because I really wanted to. Other attempts were a bit half hearted. Once it was clear in my head that I was going to do this I actually found it quite easy.

Tips....one day at a time, then a week at a time etc.
Avoid habitual smoking situations, eg after a meal, with a pint etc.
Throw all the ashtrays away, or get the wife to hide them.

Good luck mate, if you do it you won't look back. :)
