Altrincham FC First Team / You are the ref
« on: April 05, 2009, 10:12:40 PM »
There were 2 incidents in an eventful game I reffed this morning. I just curious what people would have given as their decision.
First Incident. The keeper has just taken a goal kick. The opposing player has won a header in the centre circle and has put the striker clear on goal but he is 40 yards from goal. The ref notices the keeper who has taken the goal kick, lying on the ground injured and not moving. What action would you take?

Second incident. The red team are attacking the blue team penalty area. A member of the red team is lying injured just outside the penalty area, but it is not a head injury or a serious injury. The red team play on. A cross is cleared by  a blue team defender to a red team player about 35 yards from goal. The red team goalkeeper and defender look at injured player and shout for the ball to put out of play. The red team striker shoots from 35 yards and lobs the ball over the keeper into the net. What action would you take?

Altrincham FC First Team / Referees
« on: April 04, 2009, 09:59:15 PM »
Anyone criticises the performances of referees be fortunate they didn't witness my performance this afternoon. I wasn't very good. It was my worst performance of the season. So If I criticise  a referee again just remind of this day again. I hope I am better tomorrow morning when I ref a semi-final.

Altrincham FC First Team / Worst defeat
« on: March 24, 2009, 08:46:29 PM »
I think in the Non-league directory it has our worst defeat as unknown. I think it is the 13-2 defeat at Chester in the Cheshire League on November 30th 1929.

Did anyone back it at Plumpton today? It won at 9/4. It is Cheltenham bound? But it needs soft ground.

Just browsing on the Goats(I mean Wrexham, old habits die hard) Red Passion messageboard. They are already expecting to get 6 points off us by just turning up.

Ryan Shotton 40-1 to score 1st at Burton. I think that is worth a bet. Especially if he plays up front.

Non Altrincham FC Talk / You are the Ref!
« on: August 28, 2007, 03:49:09 PM »
This is a situation that happened in a game I reffed recently.

A player from the white team is fouled just outside the opponents penalty area.
As the player is on the ground injured from the foul his team-mate takes a quick free-kick, passes to another team-mate who scores a goal,
while the players of the red team are looking at the injured player to see if he is aright.

What action do you take?

Altrincham FC First Team / New non-league paper
« on: August 21, 2007, 12:47:04 PM »
In one of the columns they gave performance of the week to Exeter for coming back from 1 nil to beat us 4-1. Though it went on to say it was only Altrincham. The columnist seemed to be a Cambridge Utd supporter.  Short memories spring to mind!
