Saughall,
I might have to admit defeat on this one - until March anyway!!

I was convinced that HMRC would take no more stalling and draw this sorry matter to a close today.
Still, we get to keep our 4 points for now, I can't see us watching Alty at the Deva again, though.

btw You mention being an Alty fan in Chester, there are 3 of us in the office I work in, one Alty fan (me),  one Chester fan and one Wrexham fan!!
Heaven (for now anyway!)

Don't worry, Chester, if we can get 3 points this weekend, we'll have bragging rights till next christmas!  :D

Are you still so sure??
Yep, CA, I'm still sure! The Vaughans have been making monkeys of everyone (including HMRC) for years now and it's going to continue!

I must be psychic!  ::) :o

Depends if Unibond accept them or not, Im guessing they probably would if there was evidence that the AFC club was big enough and well administrated.

Unless Im wrong this was the case with Halifax. However not the case with FCUM, Linnets, Scarborough, Wimbledon. I think it will depend on how much the fans got behind it, and theyre pretty hacked off these days, think they will have lost a lot of resolve.

I guess the stadium is also an issue. Cant see them keeping hold of the stadium unless they buy it as part of the pund package. Whats the betting that its not included.

That belongs to the council

Could this include someone who now plays in Australia (and has plied his trade in such far-flung places as Iceland and Accrington?)

There could only ever be one winner of that title!

I can see a scenario developing here...

Alty just make it into a playoff position  with a few games of the season left then Chester go completely tits up and the FA chuck them out and when all the points are taken off clubs which they gained from playing Chester, Alty dip out...

I hope I am wrong but I have a bad vibe about this whole fkn mess.

Virtually everyone else at the top will have taken six points from them by then so, if it does happen, we will be 2 points better off in relation to them.
In other words, it could just as easily work in our favour. How would you feel if we were 1 point off the play offs when it happened and, because of it, we just sneaked in?
Can you imagine what some of the more southerly members of confguide would make of that?!

By the way, shouldn't we be equalising in the next few minutes?  ::)

I'll shut my big mouth/fingers from now on!  >:(

Perhaps I'm being cynical or maybe have a persecution complex but I think if Saunders had taken down Main or Kedwell in a similar situation he'd have been off.

It'll have to be 2-1 to us then rather than 1-0 won't it?

33 mins: AFC pressing but making mistakes and Alty defending solidly

it  a dig at one of his colleagues who is an alty fan.

Does Simon Arron write to the Telegraph?

Lots of people write to the Telegraph (They have a letters column)  ;)

The difference being, though, we love Alty cos they're great.

A much better way of putting it might be to compare Land Rover drivers with Vics fans as neither group know any better.

I reckon this is the same case as discussed on the "Jim Harvey leaves Chester" thread.

Maybe I am wrong but the date is the same.

It is ... but Fuertes' analysis is probably fairly accurate!

Mister Flynn,

A question designed especially for you...

Who was the most woeful in an Alty shirt: Chris Waring or Dave Martindale?

Neither. Peter Frankish by a couple of miles.
