at the very least going into administration has to mean relegation, not just in theis league but throughout football.

just to repeat for the hard of understanding
if alty had borrowed a few hundred thousand with no intention of paying it back, we would have stayed up quite comfortably. your clubs actions have put your club in this situation. if other clubs stopped doing this then we wouldnt keep getting reprieved.

thing is over half a million people live in cornwall and there isnt a league club. from truro its an hours drive to plymouth assuming clear roads. there is a chance of sustainability in a way that a lot of the other clubs dont have. i dont see their isolation as being that much worse than torquay for example

if the situation was reversed then a halifax fan would be hoping for us to go bust, thats just life. the idea that by staying within the rules and staying up because others dont, is somehow cheating, is frankly completely bonkers

re truro. i spend half my life in cornwall, in st austell so i sort of follow whats going on. it is a real opprtunity for them to go at least as far as the conference as they have no competition at all, and indeed they have blown away the competition with embarrassing ease. there is certainly scope for them to regularly get 3000 crowds. what they are trying to do is what the cornish pirates have done in rugby and become the pinnacle club of a local pyramid, feeding talent and support from all over the region. whether this model will work in football i dont know, as i cant see st austell people or falmouth people supporting truro.
they decided not to go full time this year when their plans for a training ground and eventually a new stadium were blocked. you can see the logic in not going the whole way until everything is in place.
for years there has been no ambition in cornish (and d*von) football with clubs happy to stay in the same league year after year and not move up the pyramid. truro have changed all that and now the next tier of cornish clubs are playing in a southwest league. in the end though truro are another club with a sugar daddy and if he gets bored and leaves they will be back in the local leagues in no time

i can remember the leatherhead final like it was yesterday but have absolutely no recollection of the enfield final despite being there. maybe thats the difference between 16 and 19!
first final half my class from school went together on a coach from the ground. i nipped off for a piss during the game and just reached the top of the steps as kingy scored the third, cue several people tumbling back down the steps in celebration. great days indeed. the opposition support was woeful wasnt it?
sw is right that the stand off at crewe was on the way to tottenham on the special. and they were liverpool fans. wasnt so much a stand off as they would have killed us if they could have got at us.

has anyone ever read the hoolie book steaming in by colin ward? its about his time as an arse hoolie but he was from leatherhead and at the game and describes being battered by alty fans

honestly, some people have such thin skins
does anyone really think that any club would be relegated/struggled all season and none of the fans would say anything negative? my experience for what its worth is that alty fans, both on here and in reality, are a relentlesly upbeat bunch who have believed in survival right to the end, and still do. this doesnt mean people arent allowed to express reservations about players, tactics etc
my other team is west ham (season ticket 15 years) and you should try that sometime - the level of criticism aimed at board and manager at what is a relatively successful club is astonishing at times.
the idea that people are hiding behind pseudonyms is ridiculous. the community of alty fans, active and inactive, is pretty small. i havent lived in alty for 25 years but i know several people on this board personally and have met others.
i cant be at weymouth tomorrow much as i would like to but i still believe there is a chance. if it doesnt happen then its because we are not good enough. as steve coppell says you finish where you deserve to finish

absolutely. its pointless to start moaning about other teams now. its about us and once again one cant help feeling that a more positive approach earlier might have changed things

torquay wont go up anyhow, history shows that teams who end the season hanging on rarely do well.

what helps with back pain is regular exercise, treatment from an osteopath and doing mobility and strength exercises eg. pilates

BRIAN LEBOUTILLIER
Longstanding supporters of Altrincham FC will be interested to hear that the former Robins' forward Brian Leboutillier has been in touch with the website. Brian, who made a number of first-team appearances for Alty in the 1979-81 period, is now living in Salisbury, Wiltshire where he holds a senior position with O2(UK), the communications company. He came to Moss Lane via local football after playing for Heys Albion. Brian maintains his football links by managing Bemerton Heath Harlequins Reserves, who play in the Jewson Wessex League -they won 5-2 last weekend! He sends his best wishes for Christmas and New Year to all at Altrincham FC and hopes to make a visit to Moss Lane in January or February.

oh dont, you'll get gazelle all of a quiver

whats odd is that if you google north west floodlit league nearly all the results are from the alty legends pages. there is one from mossley and one from bradford park avenue, both talking about power cuts in 74!  maybe it was a weird hallucination affecting alty and never really happened.
