I'm impressed with everyone's optimism here but I'm struggling to find many positives with losing one of the most exciting players I've ever seen here. Especially at a point when the team was racing up the table.

Agree entirely.

As things stand, we face the prospect of starting February having lost Newby (four goals); Colclough (seven goals) and Conn-Clarke (eight goals, to date).

That leaves us with Dinanga (6 goals - three of which were scored against Gateshead and one came against ultra porous Dorking! Hasn't scored since 22nd October); Hulme (two goals); Jennings (one goal) and the elusive Kaja (one goal).

Our creative and goalscoring departments are going to need some very shrewd acquisitions ASAP.
I also agree .

We went full time for a reason surely ?

If players want to leave and we have offered parity on pay for the same league I fully get it and it's out of our control .

If we are losing a player for money to teams in the same league  I can't see why we went full time.

I would rather retain a proven player in the hope of getting some cash and getting 2 more that collectively are not as good

In terms of Jordan I expressed that he was never a goal scorer not even at the level below when he returned

He is (when he is motivated to be) a great player but sadly lacks fitness and consistency

In terms of dinanga he would be great a level below

If we want to remain in the league and push on as a full time team we have to pay the wages as well to compete

Is it a myth/dream or didn't we used to invade the pitch a lot after a win or even goal in the 90s?
yes we did those were the days

A very one-sided game that in typical Alty style we failed to win convincingly.

One downside of the evening was the behaviour of some of our supporters - the bunch of kids behind the goal shouting relentless, tedious and crude abuse at the Curzon keeper can perhaps be forgiven due to their age. However, the blokes who nicked the Curzon flag at half time really should have a word with themselves. It’s a shame that the stewards didn’t seem interested when they were pointed out, despite the repeated PA announcements on the subject.
we pay a lot for these stewards now . I hope we are asking for a refund for incompetence

Looks like the lads all went out on their Christmas do afterwards. Hope they had a good night.

Also heartwarming to see a few alumni (Thommo, Dens, Connor, Andy White, Ringo) out in town together too - once a Robin, always a Robin.

Probably our January reinforcement

There's a question. If two were to come back which two do people want?

Dens and Tony for me.
Chris senior please

Seedr's closed today with around £520k of investment.

So the £192K that we lost last year is at least covered.
we lost 192k last year ?

We did. It was the shareholders AGM at Moss Lane last night so the accounting information for last season came out with it. I imagine a loss was factored in last season although the extra ££ we had to spend because of Trafford MBC requirements will have been a big extra blow.
wow that's pretty scary . Given we were part time as well and increased attendances etc . I imagine the strain of stewarding costs and closure of parts of the ground etc have taken it's toll

Can we bring back Chris senior and the stoppers at the snack bar ?

From reading this fascinating thread, it occurs to me that the board's next project should comprise the construction of a crèche.

Amsterdam Alty sounds the ideal candidate to entertain all of the ebullient poppets now attending the JDS, as I suspect that he is a dab hand at making balloon animals.
it would be that late in it's opening the intended inhabitants would be parents themselves ...🤔🤔😂😂

Just to respond to Bob's very fair and measured post, it is not difference of opinion that I have any issue with, it is the damaging tone of some of the topics on here that bothers me. Some fans on here would doubtless see us go back to crowds of 600 and regional, part-time football.

Of course, all is subjective and this does not apply to all posts or users.

What you say about the very narrow demographic of users on here is spot on, where as many fans have moved on to talking about Alty via other means, there will be equally as much disagreement but it is more balanced out by a wider range of views.
please dont come on here being sensible . That's not acceptable behavior 🤠😂😉

Visited for the first time on Saturday and i wasn't impressed, its a great idea to have a fan zone but would like to know who designed it all. What's the raised area in the middle for?
Why is it all surfaced in decking an absolute nightmare in winter and hard to maintain, probably on the cheap to cover what's underneath knowing that it wont all be there long term is the answer?  :o ;D
Its a good start to be fair if its a  short term area and will help ease ques in the main bar , i hope the roofs are the contemporary sails (red ones)done correctly and not corrugated plastic.
the sad truth is the fan zone has been an unmitigated disaster from it's inception

From what was shared as the vision quickly became a nightmare

From the closure of the ground and lost revenue. The ongoing barriers around the ground from that issue . The inflating costs associated to the fan zone works. The way libero were cast aside. Then the subsequent works delivered in the area to give an intial capacity of 100.

Looking at it it would have probably been better to have resurfaced the area rather than the small raised decking area we got.

As noted above at least it's finally open and trading finally but I do worry this is not the end of the saga and hope the decking does not become a slip hazard in poor weather

It would be good if we could get an update on other areas of the ground where all the temporary fencing remains

Onwards and upwards

And thinking on it may be best to ask the players to cease communication on the pitch as well . Might trigger a migraine
