Match highlights of Harrogate Town v Workington for anyone interested.

Thanks Phil.....look forward to watching the highlights.Lee Elam made his final appearance for Alty at Bootham Crescent.......the only time that we have ever won there......in fact I believe that his final touch may have been a rather hopeful ball out to the byline that Dale Johnson somehow turned into a memorable late winning goal!

Ha! Brian you have hoist me by mine own footage petard with that one.

I also remember a certain Altrincham supporter tapping the referee on the shoulder who should have been immediately ejected!

Lee actually came on trial at York but didn't get a contract which was a shame because, when he had his "head on" he was unplayable. Strangely I went to the Unibond Final between Bradford Park Avenue and Boston United and there he was again, dominating the game. Sadly BPA lost in extra time.

He's certainly a character who needs a biography publishing, a fascinating guy who people either love or loathe.

Harrogate Town 3 Workington 1

Worky went in at half-time at 1-0 and should have been 3 up. They then hit the bar early in the second half.

The turning point was when Harrogate brought on Lee Elam who equalised then bossed the game, Town scoring 3 goals in 7 minutes. Two goals from ex-Burnley man Dominic Knowles.

Workington lacked a bit of talent but were a big, strong side who I bet are a tough test on their own patch.

Harrogate were garbage for an hour and I will lay £10 on the table right now that says they will finish at least 2 places below Alty at best.

Crowd was 284, it was bloody cold, I am off now for a few pints to warm up.

I will have highlights on tomorrow for anyone who is arsed, not your flash Alty TV HD job though, just bog standard.

Irresistible.

Do they sell Harrogate Town umbrellas....?

Apparently you can win a burger and chips.

But only for the next game.

No joke.

4 subsidised coaches?  Will they honestly get that many?

All full apparently. I'll believe it when I see it though!

I wrongly assumed you'd told them to Foreign Office when they elected to play at Donkeycaster,  How is the pitch at Bootham Crescent this season, had  it's own issues with waterlogging in recent years.

The pitch has had a bit of money spent on it, plus new frost covers, so it's in pretty decent condition. That said, it did seem to cut up a bit on Saturday when we were getting thrashed by Morecambe.

The whole event will be very strange. 4 subsidised coaches of fans coming from Harrogate, reduced entry prices, only part of the ground open, Harrogate sharing the club shop, all a bit weird.

I doubt many York fans will turn up now that our young midfielder Tom Platt has been recalled then sent out to Halifax.

We've played 24, which is about par. Chester have played most (28). Harrogate have only played 19. Don't rule out Halifax knocking on your door, cap in hand. They actually have a game in hand on Harrogate due to THEIR quasi boating lake, coupled with a Trophy run.

Oooh, looks like I'll be doing lots of lovely Conf North DVDs in that case, sounds exciting.

Hope none of their promotion rivals get their hands on them though, not that anyone uses video analysis at that level of course.

Don't forget the mouth-watering prospect of Harrogate Town v Workington at our very own Bootham Crescent!

I assume the Tories have about 20 games in hand on everyone due to their pitch shambles?

Two words.

Great night and now I can see why you go on about what it was like at Moss Lane in the 80s when the crowds were impressive.

I thought Alty were unlucky and the only difference between the two sides was that bit of speed of thought with the ball.

A great advert for Altrincham Football Club, well done everyone.

Do fans of clubs who are already out of the Cup get a compensatory discount tonight?

 :P

I think you will get a really decent crowd as it's an attractive fixture, a derby of sorts, and there are no Football League fixtures that day for some reason yet it's a Bank Holiday so everyone wants a bit of football.

Actually I thought you might have done that "Football League Season Ticket" discount thingy again for this one.

I am coming to Moss Lane for the game as long as I can survive a trip to Barnet on Saturday which is easier said than done as it will be a heavy session and I'm at that age where hangovers last 2-3 days.

If I do manage Barnet followed by Alty and manage to make it into work on Tuesday then I reckon some kind of medal is in order!

Hello,

Planning to come across for this match at Shawe View.

I've been there before but not from Piccadilly, can anyone tell me how to get to Trafford FC from the centre of Manchester? Is on the Metrolink thing as I've got one of those beer guides for "ale assistance".

Also, anyone know how much it is to get in? I predict a fiver but concrete info would be lovely.

Finally, is it an Altrincham XI or a proper first team?

Much obliged.
